Greetings,
I hope you've all been having a good time since the new launch. I've been busy with non-YTMND stuff but I've been trying to keep an eye on my flock. The launch included quite a few server migrations which I think I can safely say went well at this point.
Before I go further, I wanted to mention Kiva again and remind everyone that we've extended the offer to match Kiva loans with YTMND sponsorship dollars indefinitely, so if you'd like to do something charitable and highlight your favorite YTMNDs at the same time, Kiva micro-loans are a great way to do it. The YTMND Kiva team has lent an impressive $27,075 for only having 18 members. If you haven't yet, join Kiva, join the Kiva team and do something decent for once.
Minor dev updates follow.
I'll be addressing a couple items over the next week when I have time from the bug tracker, mainly the showstoppers with Internet Explorer and cleaning up the chat code. After that, I am also going to be improving the mod panels and making a simple contest CMS to allow select users and moderators to create contests, since I'm terrible at updating them.
Another server migration needs to happen to get the search indexing up-to-the-minute, but I'm not sure when that will get done. Over the next couple months I want to work on the "front-page time machine" feature to try and better highlight older content. If you have any ideas for it, please add them. I think the sites section is lacking majorly, and there needs to be a better way in place to see the massive archive of content on YTMND.
I'll be updating with a new contest shortly. :-*

I don't want to request any features, max. But I want to ask a question to everyone without fucking up someone's site comments:
Why are the average site ratings so much lower since the update?
I know there haven't been a ton of great sites lately, but I mean, c'mon, how does this site get a sub 4.00 rating? [site upheaval:site]
The quality edits alone would've pushed this above a 4.00 average a year ago.

Not necessarily - but dctownes' site is/was certainly worthy of the rating. I have noticed a general of sites being rated lower than usual, and I have definitely seen good sites miss the U&C because of what appeared to be an unusually high amount of early downvotes.
I guess I was really asking, "Has there been some mass downvoting happening lately?"

Not really Gordo. But like the man said; This too shall pass. Just keep shitting on the place and doing nothing to help like viewing and honestly rating all the sites on recently created every time you visit, maybe even try to troll the people who actually do that - teach them a lesson, and then complain about the results. Because that seems like a good plan.
This is Uncircumsised, tight? I can't keep these alts straight.
Anyway, I think high effort and quality edits deserve consideration when rating sites. I may not like the site overall, but I will reward effort and skill because I value those qualities in a site. So you get bumped from a 2 to a 3 or a 3 to a 4 if I think the edits are worth it. I know I'm not the only one who uses this kind of metric when rating sites.
Your McDonald's floor analogy is cute but misses the point entirely. All you're doing is saying "I don't give a fuck how much time or effort you put into the edits. I don't factor that into my evaluations." Good for you. I would reply, "Well, McDonald's floors may never suit your fancy. Fair enough. I still tend to think better of the floor that's been mopped for 100 hours."

Any of you long time site members can take a stab at answering this please:
Ive been trying to make a site for the last couple of days and every time I try to upload my content, using any of the allowed file formats, file size small or large.. I instantly get this pop up message once I select the file from my pc:
There was an error with your upload. This is what the server said about your dumb file: No valid files uploaded #2
Then another window pops up that says: "dong" lol..
doesnt matter what I try to upload. Any ol' jpg or even a gif, ytmnd doesnt even try processing it. Just soon as I select my file these messages appear. Any browser, and I have java enabled and have created many sites on ytmnd over the years.
Any ideas whats going on?
Thanks.
Pablo

SUP GUYS!
(and Nyeusigrube)
Here's what's "SUP!"
I'm going to 5 every site that you nutjobs post on YTMND. You post it, I 5 it. This is my way of saying "SUP" to everyone that continues to post sites and contribute to my favorite place on the internet.
I'M CALLING IT "SUPVOTING!!!"
If that SOPA/PIPA shit passes, this place is fucked. We might as well live it up while we can! Maybe a guaranteed 5 will inspire some of you to entertain us with a site. You guys should post so much stuff that I have trouble keeping up with my SUPVOTES.

Well guys, my SUPVOTING campaign is officially over. Congress has postponed SOPA/PIPA until they can come to a consensus on better legislation. WE DID IT!
Also, viewing and 5ing every site totally killed my site creating mojo. I haven't been on here for 2 weeks because the whole experience left me emotionally scarred. I actually had feelings of dread about coming on here, and as Sonic would say, "THAT'S NO GOOD!"
So now it's back to only voting 5 on the good stuff. I hope everyone enjoyed their stars.

Space-- no planet, no surrounding landscape, no world underfoot. Only the stars in the velvet night, and hanging against them a great red sun that was beating like a heart. Huge and tenuous at one moment, it would slowly shrink, brightening at the same time as if new fuel was being fed to its internal fires. It would climb the spectrum and hover at the edge of yellow, and cool, becoming once more a ragged, flame-red cloud...
It might have been Earth. A white sun hung in a blue sky flecked with clouds, which were racing before a storm. A hill sloped gently down to an ocean torn into spray by the ravening wind. Yet nothing moved: the scene was frozen as if glimpsed in a flash of lightning. And far, far away on the horizon was something that was not of Earth--a line of misty columns, tapering slightly as they soared out of the sea and lost themselves among the clouds. They were spaced with perfect precision along the rim of the planet--too huge to be artificial, yet too regular to be natural.
The planet was absolutely flat. Its enormous gravity had long ago crushed into one uniform level the mountains of its fiery youth-mountains whose mightiest peaks had never exceeded a few meters in height. Yet there was life here, for the surface was covered with a myriad geometrical patterns that crawled and moved and changed their color. It was a world of two dimensions, inhabited by beings who could be no more than a fraction of a centimeter in thickness.
And in its sky was such a sun as no opium eater could have imagined in his wildest dreams. Too hot to be white, it was a searing ghost at the frontiers of the ultra-violet, burning its planets with radiations which would be instantly lethal to all earthly forms of life. For millions
of kilometers around extended great veils of gas and dust, fluorescing in countless colors as the blasts of ultra-violet tore through them. It was a star against which Earth's pale sun would have been as feeble as a glow-worm at noon.

Allow me to help you out...
I cross-referenced on Google and found an interesting Japanese adult site. Not really into Japanese adult movies, but this site...the design, the girls...all I can say is "Wow!" Tons of movies and porn star profiles! It's worth a look.

Sometimes it's all about presentation. Also, I'm checking to see if these font commands still work.

I am done using alts seriously, I have not 1 alt registered to my IP or anyway on the net, I just want max to know YTMND user Crashman-alpha and ImmaAless are not my alts, they have logged into my YTMND account because they helped me repost my sites quicker, both of those users I know in Real world, besides that I don't have 1 alt, and max actually deleted my old friends ytmnd account thinking it was my alt because I had logged into it, anyway I actually learned my lesson not to use alts, and I kinda deserved what I got
