Yes, heaven forbid a Godzilla movie not feature two monsters lethargically ambling into one another in lieu of some formidable fighting.

^nice missing the point. the movie went way too fast, the fights were too short, and the acting and music sucked.

formidable fighting? if you call 20 seconds a "formidable fight" then there's something wrong with you.

Seems to me that he fought Monster X and Gigan for longer than 20 seconds. Kitamura was trying to cement that Godzilla was in a class far above the other monsters, hence his title of "King".

What you call breif fights, I call fast pacing. I was sick of a Toho's post-GINO Godzilla, who gets his chest torn up by human missiles and runs away from a powerless Kiryu. This movie was a welcome change.
