Yes it's a very famous scream but I have never been able to put a name to it. Maybe the wiki entry for Half-Life 2 will be shed some light on it.

I've been trying to figure it out too....I've heard it in videogames and believe it or not its in the movie Face/Off when Cage is escaping from the prison...one of the prison guards makes the sound!!!

I have no idea what the name of the scream is. I've always called it "The Dark Forces scream" because the first place I heard it was in the old Star Wars game "Dark Forces" whenever you fell a long distance.
