The effect is known has holophonic sound. Wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holophony (Note: The sound actually is a matchbox. But matches are approximately 3.83 times less funny than Tic Tacs.)

Nicely done. If this was done with tic tacs, the sound would have had more of a clack to it, rather than a tick. Tic tacs are candy coated, and it would hit off the plastic, rather than wood or paper bouncing off the cardboard matchbox. So anyway, 5 for you for pointing out this new sound effect type.
