Math takes no for an answer
Math takes no for an answer! And before anyone tries to correct me, yes I know the answer is 14.

d/dx(((7-h)^2-49)/h) = 2*(7 - h) => lim h->0 = 2*7 = 14

A simple derivative and you said no?

it didnt ask for the answer, it asked for the limit. the answer was correct because there was no limit.

or something like that. actually i made that up, i didnt even try the problem...but it sounds likely

Maybe it "accepted" your answer, but it took it as wrong. Either that, or a word made it glitch up with an NaN answer.

eww, math.

the limit can be applied directly by executing the square for (49-49+h^2-14h)/h = h - 14 = -14 (when h -> 0). baltakatei forgot a -1 from the chain rule; bfd.

...except i threw a minus in somehow myself. It's +14, baltakatei was right, apologies all around.

Uh, actually, it's 14. If you simplify it, you get [(49+14h+h^2)-49]/h, then (14h+h^2)/h, then 14 + h. Which is 14 + 0. Which 14. Try graphing it. It's not negative.

I'll go ahead and quote myself here and say "yes I know the answer is 14"

Easy problem. The answer was accepted, but it doesn't mean it was correct. XD

The result is not defined: (7-0)²-49/0 -> 0/0 -> Not defined
