Before the Death Star there was....
I know it isn't really a saw. I also know it is used for mining.

Sweetness! Is that thing real? If it is, wtf would we do with it? *Shock of fear* ...build...the...DEATHSTAR! Or we could save Ginnyweapons from the giant robots. :)

(0)
Been a while I have'nt heard of this big thing, specially on ytmnd. I think it was used in germany to rebuild broken landscapes or something.
March 7th, 2006
(0)
Its not a saw.
March 7th, 2006
(0)
The saw doesn't rebuild anything. Boomaga is right in that its used for mining. Doesn't go very far though, only goes less than 1 mph.
March 7th, 2006
(0)
Congrats, you have found strip mining equipment!

What purpose does a saw serve on mining equipment?
April 7th, 2012
(0)
it slowly lowers towards the damsel in distress until the demands of the villeness fiend are met and you sign over the mine to him
March 7th, 2006

haha! someone should make a ytmnd of that becoming like a death machine and going out of control instead of some lame, slow-moving mining equipment
March 7th, 2006
(0)
For everyone who was wondering, it only looks like a saw from the side. What look like the saw's teeth are actually scoops. It spins and scoops dirt really fast.
(0)
I think that's what they used to circumcise Shaq...
(0)
March 7th, 2006
(0)
not a saw, buncha scoops. Look at how theyre faced. The aggregate is dropped onto the conveyor system that goes throughout the chassis of the crane. And yes, it's for strip mining, most likely of just aggregate for road construction, building constructi

I saw this thing on the History Channel, it's used for strip mining of coal in Germany. The coal there is soft so it can be scooped easy. It would fail in the USA.

what it is is a bunch of shovels attatched to a wheel, they use it to either A) scoop off soil to reach the ore, B) mine soft ore, or C)use it to srape soil that contains ore. Believe it or not, this is a small one, there is one in northern germany thats like twice the size of this.
