HISTORYTMND: The 20th Century: 100 Years In 100 Frames (Tweaked GIF)
100 Years summed up in 100 Frames. (YES, there are exactly 100 Frames in this GIF.) Also, Note to those who complain about the animation going too fast: It's supposed to do that. It's like the trailer to A Clockwork Orange. So, stop asking me to slow

1) Yes, there are exactly 100 Frames. It just goes really fast. 2) I used Nagasaki over Hiroshima. 3) I used the keyboard version of William Tell Overture, which was on the Clockwork Orange Soundtrack.

Do the years and frames match up perfectly? I slowed it down and counted about 10 frames that would have occured between 1939 and 1945
March 18th, 2006
(0)
No, I didn't get a frame from every single year, as some years, nothing noteworthy really happened. I just focused on the major events of the 20th Century.

I really, really doubt that that song originated in A Clockwork Orange, which by the way sucks.
March 19th, 2006

Adverb: A Clockwork Orange had a truly horrid soundtrack of old classical songs on bad synthesizers. This is from the scene where Alex is having sex in fast forward.

That version of the William Tell overture DOES originate from A Clockwork Orange. If you can't tell the difference between the original and a technofied version, LostPenguin, maybe you should be doing the research. Snap!

August 30th, 2006
(0)
Actually, Lenin, Hitler, Churchill, Stalin, FDR, Kennedy, Mao, Nixon, Saddam, and John-Paul II make two appearances, along with Che. The pictures I used were the best I could find to encapsulate a particular event or essence to represent them.
August 30th, 2006
(0)
Also, to be honest, Stalin appears the most in this YTMND (One portrait, one picture of Yalta, and one picture of a decapitated statue head.
