Hey Syncan - I would pass on the idea of restarting audio with the gif cycle if it means a clicking noise every time through. Having the sound and anims start at the same time is a great advancement, but to make it so easy for people to sync would remove

I think this is a good ytmnd on its own merits. The sync really enhances this one in a big way. I see Ink's point, but any de-emphasizing shift away from the "fundamentals" occurred long ago, and this is just a way to improve quality. Again, I like it.
