Y'know what happened to the Natives? They were defeated. History has shown that the weaker cultures have fallen wayside of the stronger. Those vision quest tribes, where is their nation now? Oh, yeah, the US conqured it. A bunch of pot-smoking hippies didn't bring about our world, the nations that outlawed its use did.
And its not that I don't have respect for those who do it; as I clearly stated, 80% of my friends do. I live in an apartment where nigh daily half a dozen people are smoking weed in the next room. My problem is with people that make an entire culture out of it. I can't live without caffeine but I don't have posters and bumper stickers with "Hit some caffeine, boys!" on it.
