You guys have never noticed this before? Half of the sh*t put out in the last decade is basically a cover or an alteration like this. It's generally more acceptable as a tribute in this genre, much like covers (and *strictly* covers) are tributes in pop/rock/whatever; I don't listen to too much of it but NWA - 'Express Yourself' and that stupid Godzilla song (the Kashmir knockoff) come to mind.
