the loop is confusing, he's in a box of his own thoughts and darkness(ignorance, innocence?) the confusing loop is maybe the outside(truth, reality, unknown?) I think the statement it gives off is people are afraid of the unknown, or just what they don't understand.
However, the .gif isn't hard to figure out. Maybe I just fail.
