Actually, humans and dogs could only exist through some form of genetic manipulation as there is a several million year gap between Neanderthal man and Cro-Magnum man. Also that dogs are basically mutant wolves designed for the specific purpose of not becoming feral. Intelligent Design is how our two species came about undoubtedly, however the oldest creation stories (the ones that predate any religion by thousands of years) point to aliens or evolved dinosaurs (a.k.a. raptor jesus, lol).
