No it's not. It's a Kuiper object. Calling it a planet would require calling literally thousands of others planets. Stop whining over such a stupid subject.

It is an ice ball. 4 anyhow.

"No it's not. It's a Kuiper object. Calling it a planet would require calling literally thousands of others planets. Stop whining over such a stupid subject." Quote for irony

Now it's a "dwarf planet." And as the first discovered dwarf planet (by, like, 50 years) and nearly the largest, it still has a special status.

Yes it is

actually first-of-two, as Ceres is now a dwarf planet too it actually beats Pluto for discovery by 129 years.... but Pluto is still cooler.

No...it isnt. But +5 for space. If Pluto is a planet then so is Xena etc....there would be like 100+ planets that are clearly very different form the classical 8

i seriously doubt any of you have any sort of authority or experience over the collective minds of the IAU to say. though you're entitled to your opinion, of course. as for the actual YTMND, it's horribly boring, and gets a 2.

I agree! Sometimes when i look up at the sky at night i imagine myself on Pluto and seeing the sky from its view.

It is a planet. Found by Percival Lowell ...lol. Because the IAU are a bunch of bitches, they reclassified it as a "Dwarf" Planet. STFU...PLUTO IS A PLANET! The message of this YTMND alone deserves a 5, in my opinion.

Indeed, Pluto is a damn planet. F*ck those astronomers who say it is, because they are the ones who said it was a few decades ago!
August 26th, 2006

And anyone who says we'd have to include all those other bullsh*t asteroids, f*ck that too. We decide what makes a planet, so we can say "F*ck you other asteroids, Pluto is special"
August 26th, 2006

Why couldn't Mike Brown be happy having discovered the tenth planet? There HAS to be something out in the K-belt bigger than Mercury, what'll they do then, demote that, too?
