A message against lol, internet, among other things
It's time to stop all these gay little anime fads and lol, internet sh*t. It doesn't make any sense. YTMNDs aren't being made like they were 3 years ago, when they were still YTMNDs and not f*ggy short films. Those are for YouTube, not here.

Amen. ytmnd has seriously been spiralling down the toilet lately

Selling out to the man? WTF? And forget that picture sound text nonsense. You'd have to be a fool not to realize text is completely nonessential. And final question: how is yourethemannowdog.ytmnd.com funny? It doesn't entertain me at all, that's for sure. I agree ytmnd seems to have gone downhill, but I don't think it has much to do with ytmnd's not being "traditional."

it's the funny that counts. Stop with the gay ranting YTMNDs because they aren't funny and noone gives a sh*t.

It's because that is what YTMND was originally made for. It is a picture-sound-text juxtaposition, not a retarded short film rampage that only 12 year old anime lovers would enjoy. Think about it for a moment. When something loses it's original intended purpose, then what is it useful for? Just a thought.

Of course, SpacePirate begs to differ. He finds senseless and retarded sh*t that makes no sense, funny. Look at the sh*t he upvotes.

actually now that i look at it. YTMND has changed site wise. sites a couple years ago were much better and not spamming the same pic/gif image with different music. The some short films are good. But they're beginning to become the only thing top rated. Also these bots really f*ck up everything.

I under stand it is your opinion, but regardless this is a case of a fad reaching its own limits. Right now someone could create a lol, "something" YTMND that would be the funniest thing you have ever seen, but it is more likely that someone will make a lol YTMND that is not funny at all, cheapening the concept in itself. I say don't point your irritation against a fad all together, but rather those who would have spoiled a fad. Also there is little that can be done to change the taste of a group.

The world wide web was originally created for collaborative research information. Screw these picture and music. STICK TO THE BASICS OF TIMES NEW ROMAN AND HYPERLINKS, you f*ggy fruits! 4evR

Eh, hopefully this site's ratings will go up sometime later tonight when all the downvoting "kiddies" have to go to bed... unless they are up past their bedtime watching South Park or Adult Swim on TV. F*cking pre-pubescent boys.

seriously though, what is wrong with you?

Purposes can evolve. Nowadays, a ytmnd seems to be deemed "successful" if it's funny (although they can also be "deep" or "cool," but these don't seem to be the main aims). And I imagine that's why most people go to ytmnd: for laughs. What I'm saying is, I don't care what people do, as long as it's funny. As long as it ENTERTAINS me. That's the true purpose: entertainment. Does it really matter HOW it's done?

I think you need to look deep down inside yourself to find out what is really wrong. The answer is not me.

Well all I've said so far is that nontraditionalism isn't the problem. If I had to guess at the problem, I probably would indeed say it's the fads. People just pointlessly smush as many well-established fads together and sometimes they're even "successful" in doing so. There's usually nothing clever or interesting involved though. So is it that people have stopped trying or that people simply don't appreciate originality as much as they should?
September 29th, 2006
(0)
Well, if it's the latter, ask yourself: aren't YOU being unappreciative of originality by asserting that all ytmnd's should conform to the traditional form? Aren't YOU, and your philosophy, therefore part of the problem?
September 30th, 2006
(0)
No. See, here is the problem. Most of these fads, such as lol, internet and Epic whatever Maneuver wouldn't even exist if YTMND had stuck to its original form. Yes, you can make the argument that its the fads and not the format that is bringing YTMND down, but would these fads even exist if YTMND could not use animated GIFs? There are many other websites accross the internet for videos, and I feel that YTMND is no place for them.

As for that NARV zenpsycho guy, as that dumbass genesis16 once said, "IF I EVER FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE, [I WILL]... GOUGE OUT YOUR EYES"
September 30th, 2006

Fads aren't necessarily bad. What's bad is that most ytmnd's are sorted into pointless fadmongering, crap made by "popular" members, satire of entities threatening max with legal action, and original content. The last category is easily the most underappreciated, and might not even exist in any large quantity. So basically, when people reject anything thats not a fad, that's the problem. Also: there's always going to be crap in any open medium. When theres no good stuff, that's when there's a problem.
September 30th, 2006
(0)
Eh... you do have a point on that behalf. As smoothmedia says: Popularity is inversely related with originality on YTMND.

This is so true, in a way. But I think some of the effortless ones are amazingly funny, and some of the ones that are too complicated suck. It's a balance. I liked this, however, and it's a wakeup call for lots of users.

Ya, but unfortunately, this site has been pelted with so many downvotes by little kids that nobody will be able to see this YTMND without me advertising this site, in which case I will be pelted with more downvotes and be criticized for spreading out the message in the first place. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

believe it or not... i agree heartily. unfortunately, now whenever you quote a movie with picture, sound, and text, you get downvoted because it isnt a f*ggy short film. youre the man now dog was a movie quote with picture sound text, but you can be assured that if you make a movie quote ytmnd, 9 times out of 10, it will be downvoted

There is so much I could say to this, but I'll just say this: cry more, old man. Old school YTMNDs are not funny at all. I am so sick of you classic YTMND activists that it makes me want to throw up. Also, I hate people who stereotype teenagers like myself. You need to accept that it's how funny a site is that counts. Also also, the "picture, sound, text" rule is the gayest sh*t in the world. I don't hate inkdrinker, but i hate his ideals and propaganda. that is all

Obviously you are too much of a f*cking moron to realize what YTMND was, and what it is becoming. Just get the f*ck out of here and go to YouTube or some sh*t. The proud few who still remember YTMND as to what it was don't want you here.

I actually have been with YTMND from its start in 2004. I was forced to get a my second account in 2005 because i had forgotten the password to my other account. Back in those days, YTMND was a novelty to me. I had never before seen anything like it and wanted to be a part of it. But as time passed, I, and many others, got bored and decided it was time to add a little HUMOR! At least admit that the primordial days of YTMND weren't funny! I look forward to your response.

Also, don't try calling me "some anime loving 12 year old". I'll have you know that I happen to be 15 and will be 16 in February.
