We Americans Are So Ignorant
No, ignorant doesn't mean stupid, and it's true because this is Generation I-Don't-Give-A-F***! Support our troops, protest unjust war. We need a parliamentary republic, not a corrupt republic that Americans think is actually a democracy. We need a mo

I hate to say it... but... as they don't produce wine, cheese, pasta, or italian sports cars... you forgot Poland. Also, Parliamentary Republics are a lot like ours... Our biggest problems are our a.) size b.) rich/poor gap c.) lack of education d.) society that realizes that good politics are inefficient politics and bad politics are dirty politics. Also, the Theocracy doesn't help. Oh, and don't forget the joke that is the electoral college.

Obviously you speak for yourself. As for parliamentary systems, you'll find problems similar to and often greater than those plaguing the United States government within many of them. The difference between most parliamentary systems and the US system is that in the United States, politicians control things while elsewhere, parties as a whole control things. No matter. I'm sure your pop culture heroes will continue to tell you what to think.

Pop culture heroes telling me what to think? Couldn't be further from the truth. Maybe you see using Green Day's song as something of the sort, protesting our government, etc. but it's actually ridiculing on a level above that as well, if you think a bit deeper...

... 99% of todays youth doesn't give a crap, and the 1% that do is comprised primarily of kids who only disagree because Green Day and the Daily Show tell them, not by using their own eyes and brains. Using one of Green Day's "protest" songs is a mockery of the people who think they're protesting on a 1960's level by listening to pop culture and pop music.

I'm inclined to beleive that we need a kama sutra like harmony where wealth interests and majority interests balance each other out. wealth will, and has crushed or abused democracy to deny public power. they only thing that can possibly stop this the solid and unyeilding pressure of the masses. of course it would help if clinton would stop making freinds with narco-king dictators who like to kill labor organizers. we need labor in the third world if only to slim the huge cost benefits of investing their.
