In Memory of the Flight Instructor
Look it is a sad thing that the pitcher died but dont you think that they should also tell about the flight instructor? I am sure he had a name and a family.

Well, you think he'd be INSTRUCTING him at the time. Doesn't make him a very good instructor.

Actually if you die and you're not riding with a celebrity then you don't make headlines across the country. Period. They don't care about you if you're with a pitcher and they don't care about you if you're not with a pitcher. Whether they care about the pitcher... well the media isn't exactly honest these days so whatever gets them ratings.

They don't give his name because they want to notify the family first. You don't want his wife learning about his death on the news. The only reason the pitcher's name got out was because he's famous, and the plane was registered to him.

For one thing, the plane was registered to Lidle and that's the first thing they knew after it crashed. At first they weren't even sure there was more than one person in the plane. Also look at sky during those first news shots. Overcast, low ceiling. Light rain. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to fly low around all those buildings with a student of less than 75 hours training? Also, fatal light plane crashes happen ALL THE TIME.

Except for Lidle of course, but that would mess my numbers all up.
