next, find the sum of these numbers (also known as adding them all together) 1+2+3+4+5=15, you can double check on a calculator since im sure youre not used to adding so many numbers.

now take the sum of the list of numbers (15) and divide that by the number of items in the list (5). now division may be a new concept for you, but its on the calculator as well. its the button with a dot on top, a horizontal line below it, and another dot below the line. press 1 then press 5 enter in 15. next press that button with the dots and line i was talking about. next hit 3. the final step is to hit the = button (or enter, depending on your calculator) and the number 3 should appear, not 2.5.
