lulz i looked up the history of the battle of thermopylae and found out wth is going on with the guys tossing people into the well. the Persians sent people out to threaten the greek states and pressure them into joining the Persian empire willingly. as proof of each states loyalty they asked for 2 things, a jar of earth from the city-state and a jar of water. some complied but those with the most notable responses were athens and sparta both of which threw the emissaries into a deep pit(athens)
