so whats the new password?
May 17th, 2007
(14)
not realy an Xp weakness, more like a fault in that person making it way too easy.

I disagree that it's the person's fault. You shouldn't have to just answer one question and then immediately get pass rights. it should be emailed to the adress it was created from.
May 18th, 2007
(7)
You don't need an email address to make a hotmail account.

Look up "Social Engineering" it's how more people than you think get things done
May 18th, 2007
(0)
(you mean, Social Engineering: It's how SMART people get just about Anything They Want done ^_^)

Actually, all 3 of u are gay.
May 18th, 2007
(1)
that's why I always type garbage in my secret question answer
May 17th, 2007
(0)
Yeah, it was just a stupid secret question
May 17th, 2007

May 17th, 2007

It's a passive form of social engineering.

-3 for publicly showing it and it not being very difficult anyway.

the only way to stop this is if everyones mums move away from where they were born. because there is no way microsoft will change the way they do things
May 18th, 2007
(1)
or if you just say you're mum was born in "spaghetti"

i lol'd 1st time, but really ur just lucky about mothers birthplace and that guy is one idiot
May 17th, 2007
(0)
Very very situational. If someone makes their security password an answer in their profile then they deserve to be hacked.
May 17th, 2007
(0)
not saying this is bad--it isn't--but you can see your own address on there in the beginning... ... ...wait, you might've hacked that one too, nevermind
May 17th, 2007

This should be an "Epic *** Manuever"TMND.
May 17th, 2007

If you are stupid enough to use your birth place as a key you get that.

well done sir
May 17th, 2007

I wouldn't really call it hacking, more like getting lucky that the person made it easy for you, but a good trick nonetheless.
May 17th, 2007

He's citing where he got the sound from.
May 17th, 2007

May 18th, 2007

I'll 5 this if it is renamed "How to hack MSN if the person you are hacking is mentally challanged or has no concept of internet security" Till then 2'd.

lulz, sh*t
(0)
More like "How to exploit a stupid person"
May 18th, 2007
(0)
Hrummmm I would say it is a two part problem, first there is the social engineering (e.g. the person's IQ must be hovering around room temperature), secondly there is the fact that MSN allows you to edit your password on the spot. Whatever happened to the were going to e-mail you your password only situation?
May 18th, 2007

v-_-v is this funny? I am not sure

It's not hacking, but with no contact between him and the hackee, it's not social engineering either. It's just taking advantage of a dumbass. Which I fully endorse.

i did that to someone once, his email was sonyman or something like that. his question was. 'What is my favourite store'. I put in 'sony store' bam. gg'd account l3wlz

Ahahaha, I've done this before. The question was favourite movie, and the answer (LOTR) was on her freaking MSN profile, what a stupid bitch. 5'd, but you should probably change the title.

I JUST SUCCESSFULLY DID THIS ON MY FIRST TRY, LOL! I GAVE HIS LOCATION AND HIS QUESTION WAS WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD? I GUESSED PIZZA AND HE JUST GOT PWNED, LOL!!!
May 18th, 2007
(0)
Although this is extremely cool. I just realized you can get your *ss in big trouble doing this if you obtain an account with like an xbox live subscription attached to it or other billing account. They no doubt get your IP when you log on.
May 18th, 2007

Hmm, the pizza answer seems to work most of the time, it worked at least 2 times when I tried it.

I've changed the sound to an epic one.
May 18th, 2007

not a hack, just use of information that was readily available. Still, demonstrates how 99% of accounts for things like hotmail and myspace are 'hacked'.
