its so easy to understand why, its 5th grade math...
(2x+50)*50 ... 100x+250 ... 100x+(y+2006) ... 100x +age [so x is 1-9] you get your age plus 100*the original number. That original number gurantees that the value doesn't go beyond 100x and 100x+100 unless your age is greater than 100 in which case the math fails.
I had fun writing down the math to show that though since I haven't done it in a while.
