YOU MUST BE SOME KIND OF... OF... GENIUS!!! Sorry, but you just refuse to consider that pure drive space doesn't automatically mean it's better.

Concat, find some specs on the PS3 hard drive vs the aftermarket hard drive, like as far as RPMs and idle/load temperatures goes. You have to remember the PS3's airflow might not allow for much, or even perhaps that the ps3 hard drive yeilds better performance because of higher RPM's. Basically, if sony could do something to save money, they would. They are already losing a lot of money PER UNIT.

Very nice! Now please apply this same mentality to buying Wendy's new Baconater burger vs. buying three Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers. I'm waiting.

I thought it was about the gaming.

Well, keep in mind you get a game with the 80 gig one, silly. The subtraction of the emotion engine is enough to warrant a purchase of the 60 gig right now though.....

You guys are falling into Sony's trap, ROFL. This is exactly what they want you to do, to go out and buy a 60GB Ps3 so they can clear their warehouses. Do you seriously think they're stupid enough not to realize that their 80gb PS3 is a rip-off? As son as the 60gb ones sell, they'll drop their 80gb to $500

Wii = 50 Mario games and SSBB. (I'm not saying that's bad) Xbox 360 = GOW, Halo 3, Assasin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid 4, Tom Clancy games, GTA IV with exclusive content, Rock Band, Call Of Duty 4, Ace Combat series, RIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER!, Forza series, Elite will retail for 479 U.S. Dollars.

LOL chick magnet I would love to see your sources on "metal gear solid 4 being on the Xbox 360". Also, Assassins Creed is coming to the ps3, as are Tom Clancy games, Call of Duty 4, Rock Band, RIIIIIIIDGE RACER!!, and GTA 4 (granted, without the exclusive content). What does that leave? GOW, a trilogy which comes to an end in a month, ace combat, and Forza. Not the greatest exclusive line up ever, huh? Also i'm not hating on the 360, just putting chick magnet's post in perspective. I own a 360 myself o.O

The better deal is getting your hands on a 60 gig, $500 PS3 with full backwards compatibilty while sony is still feeling generous.

Ya... but still, 600$ for a console is too much... and theres still no good game...

Too bad you're still forced to buy a PS3. You lose.

I haven't done the numbers myself, but from a straightforward view, this is a clever idea you have. Sure, there's probalby other factors to consider, but it makes for a funny YTMND nonetheless.

Or you can just not get a PS3 because like all next generation consoles they're simply PC's that only play games.
