In fact, the people most directly responsible for African slavery in America pre-1865 are African warlords who sold their own people to European slave traders. lol, misinterpretation of religion. If you must know, the Islam is a pretty peaceful religion. If you know anything about history in the western world you should know that the concept "kill the infidels" is not as new as you may think. Christianity did pretty much the same thing for a long period of time. In fact, it was even worse back then. You are right about Xtianity, but as for the "peaceful" Muslims, the reason you don't hear anything from them is that they don't speak up. When I said everyone focuses on violence instead of peace I meant exactly that. They do indeed speak up. Sure, in some areas the people are too scared to do anything, but that is still a small part of the world. The problem is just that reporting violence is more interesting. I live in Europe. My current class in school consists for a reasonable part out of Muslims. They are as pissed at extremists as the others. With good reason. Their religion is used for violence!

I should have been more specific when I made the comment that "no one living today has any responsibility for slavery..." When I made that comment I was speaking about slavery in the United States, and not slavery as a whole. True slavery is still practiced by various people throughout the world, but I specifically meant that no US citizen currently alive bears any responsiblity for the practice of slavery in the US pre-1865, and no reparations are due to "african americans" who have never been slaves.

Slavery is a funny thing: it's done outside the western world. Then these products are exported to the western world. When you buy clothes, there's a big chance it's done by children in poor countries. Not exactly slavery, but there's a very thin line. Also, I just wanted to point out that the connection between slavery and muslims is useless in this argument. Barack Obama's wife is in the Council on Foreign relations with Dick Cheney. His campaign is a fairy tale being told by the corporate media. When the elections get rigged this year and a republican wins, people won't doubt that the republican actually won because he was against a black man. Think about it: America would NEVER elect another dipsh*t republican president like George W. Bush ever again.... But what if the new Bush was up against a black man? People would elect the new bush.
