Did he say "steel-belted radios"?
(2)
I believe he said "steel-belted radials", like modern car tires. Not sure how that fits into a living-room but I like the message here. I don't think congress cares about benefiting man-kind, they are too busy selling their seats cheating taxes and playing lobbyist back scratch games, to put the agenda of American prosperity into focus. Politicians are glorified actors usually with rich daddies. Soon we may elect our officials through American Idol, maby America's Next Top Congressman? Probably some day.

Hey, a serious answer to my question, thanks! For some reason, I was picturing really old, big radios with a system of steel belts inside.

The only thing that would make this better is if when he says "punks are running wild in the street," you would've replaced "punks" with TTS saying "downvoters."

except congress wouldn't applaud, because it's infested with goddamn liberals, who did their best to demean or ignore the tax day tea parties, an expression of this righteous anger. And then that c*nt janette napolitano (sp?) would put Peter Finch on a watch list. And that bigger c*nt Robert Gibbs would try to make a joke out of it, in his awkward, mongoloid manner. F*CK YOU OBAMA!!!!!!

Ever wonder why there's all these movies about people taking over the airwaves then being f*cked over or bought out? 'Network' is nothing but cold war propaganda when they were afraid of a universal communication among the plebs like the internet has brought. Lucky for them it's just a bunch of goddam retards spamming the same inane sh*t wherever you go. One day we are all gonna be mad as hell, and not gonna take it anymore, but not while we're still making a comfortable living from genocide and destruction
May 7th, 2009
(-1)
but talking about exploitation via genocide and destruction...that's not pleb. That's innovative, original thought, and wasn't tired or cliche 20 years ago when rage against the machine was whining about that sh*t.

YOU'VE GOTTA GET MAD! I want you to get up right now, and go to California, and then we're gonna go to Oregon, and to Michigan! I want you to get up RIGHT NOW, and go to the window... and stick your head out... and yell YEAGGHHHHHHHHH!!!

You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations; there are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There is no third world. There is no west. There is only one holistic system of systems; one vast interwoven, interacting, multivariate multinational dominion of dollars. Petrodollars, electrodollars, reichmarks, rubles, rin, pounds and shekels. It is the international system of currency that determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural

That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic, subatomic and galactic structure of things today. It is the international system of currency that determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things. You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and you will atone! Am I getting through to you, Mr. Beale?
(-3)
Do you speak as an international socialist? Because what you are saying here bears quite a resemblance to their rhetoric.

Watch Network, and you will understand, maddog.

Oh, and the biggest difference between socialism and corporatism is the motive. Corporatism promotes making money at the expense of social well being. Socialism promotes social well being at the expense of monetary benefits. But anyway, the extreme that this quote presents is more akin to the all encompassing system presented by communism or totalitarianism, not socialism.
(-2)
I'm aware of the statements of socialists. I know what they claim to stand for.

hey Fluk3, i agree with you mostly but disagree. try this: take what you're saying and apply it into "othnerness." once yu do that accurately, or, what you "think" is accurate, a whole buch of stuff becomes more clear....and when i say more clear, i really mean..............i dunno...not clear..but hey, if you dig what im saying, OR, get even the general gist, then hey, you might see what im saying. oh yeah, 2.

there is an awful lot of yelling in Network.

The character played by Peter Finch in the movie Network, which is where this quote is derived from.

I really do appreciate your response. But I still hate this ytmnd a lot. I wanted to give you two stars for your explanation... but dude... I just couldn't... I just couldn't do it.

No problem. I don't expect everyone to like this. I figured it would be polarizing from the start, and I was surprised that it has stayed so high on up and coming for so long.
May 10th, 2009
(1)
Funny how someone mistakes ytmnd for a political site. And I mean a lot of people. YTMND is about popular things: Network is a very popular movie, the Congress fad is known to many. You do the math.

This was the story of Howard Beale; the first known instance of a man killed because he had lousy ratings.
