f*cking ignorant american pigs, i cant wait until something like this happens to nyc or something. when its a bunch of white collar americans dying in the streets instead of poor black people I think you pigs will have a different opinion. this horrible tragedy made 9/11 look like a game of candyland. over 150,000 f*cking people died. yet you f*cking fat ignorant morons care more about the 3000 that died on 9/11. f*ck you all, I hope 9/11 happens again with more success for the jihad

Good idea, kill the people who supply the disaster relief supplies. That way when disaster strikes, even more people die because there is nobody to supply supplies. Genius. Any more good ideas?

Look, I was simply posing a hypothetical to expose how ignorant and evil you all sound claiming that hundreds of thousands of poor haitians 'deserve it'. You couldnt last a f*cking day in their shoes.

(-4)
How can you have beef with altruists? I mean that's a pretty easy fight; they're already putting other people's needs before their own. Way to pick your battles, though, you ridiculous, sad lump of human apathy.
January 25th, 2010
(-3)
[ comment is below rating threshold and has been hidden ]
(-3)
Egonym, do you know any altruists? If you do, ask them what they've done to help other people. Or better yet, don't ask! Just stand near them for more than two minutes and they will begin telling you about how selfless they are and how many millions of people they've helped. When I donate to a charity, I do so anonymously and don't tell anyone about it. I have yet to meet an altruist that did not rattle off the last 20 charities they have contributed too and the exact money amounts donated by them.
January 25th, 2010
(-4)
[ comment is below rating threshold and has been hidden ]
(-4)
I can't tell if that was a joke... So your definition of an altruist is someone who brags about charity donations? And then you go on to say that you never say when you donate money, but by saying that you are bragging about how you donate anonymously... I'm just saying it's ridiculous to have animosity towards someone for doing an altruistic act. Hate them for whatever else, but why hate someone for helping others?
January 25th, 2010
(-3)
Dang, MTown, I guess your good works are not so anonymous anymore LOL.

Common sense. If you put some else's needs above your own, you starve or become needy yourself. Then there are 2 needy starving people instead of one. But if you want to live your life for other people, go right ahead. Its your life.

Charity is a cult. It promotes hostility to others who do not wish to participate. It turns people into monsters. Charity is another way to send money to the top 1% without services rendered.

How does it feel, to be part of "one of the most embarrassing comment threads"?
January 26th, 2010

it feels pretty good actually, because mocking you all is so simple. so far, ive been auto-shut out and assumed "religious," all for speaking an opinion.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
You have an opinion other than "this discussion is stupid"? Or was that it?
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
And deemed an idiot for spamming. Congratulations.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
that was the point of commenting in the first place. however, i did give an honest opinion down below, to which you shut me out, telling me you didnt care about my opinion. but the entire thing was mocking really.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
oh, i was also insulting you all.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
which was worth it for Timaeus getting that im religious out of all of it ;)
January 26th, 2010

I know it was mocking, which is why I said I didn't care. But thanks for helping me work the way up the "most commented on" ranks.

You didn't give an opinion at all. You commented on others opinions with disdain.
January 26th, 2010

So my only point was that it's funny to me that someone could hate altruistic people. It reminded me of Zapp Brannigan's hatred for the neutral people in Futurama. Also, altruism is perfectly normal and healthy. It occurs in nature all the time. It's not some perverted human idea like... well, YTMND.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
That's fine and dandy if you think humans are just dumb animals.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
Then you can call me Mr. Dandyfine.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
I hate altruistic people who try to impose their stupid beliefs on others. The way I hate religious people for the same reason. If altruistic people want to give their money to the wealthy for no services, that's fine. Why would you want to embarrass yourself by making it pubic? I'm not altruistic, I'm a pragmatist.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
That was a sexy typo
January 26th, 2010
(-2)
Just to make this thread longer and more embarrassing: I don't really believe there exists "altruistic people"; only altruistic acts. Anybody who claims to be an altruist is full of sh*t and I think it's that type of person, Timaeus, you hate. Another type of person who is full of sh*t are those who say vulgar, selfish, crude things and try to pass it off as "just tell'n it like it is." As if everything that is good is a lie.

I understand that the issue in Haiti is a big deal and people are torn on whether or not we as a country should donate to the relief of this horrible disaster in another country or keep the money in our own country. However what we should really be concerned about is when the black dude on American Idol who sang "Pants on the Ground" is going to get a record deal.

How does sending counterfeit money to a poor country help them?
January 25th, 2010
(-3)
Yeah, the money doesn't go directly to them. It's used for buying disaster relief supplies, dumbass, but nice try.
January 25th, 2010
(1)
How do you know where the money goes? Do you own a charity? I heard most contributions are eaten up by administration fees. Or is this like the contractors you sent to Iraq? Where they build half of a hospital and then bail? By supplies, you mean 500 dollar hammers? Enlighten me to the specifics.
January 25th, 2010
(2)
The money goes to evil corperations who profit from disaster relief supplies.
January 26th, 2010
(-1)
So, are you saying that there will be no transparency in the relief effort? Are you saying there is some conspiracy that involves the thousands of people involved with said effort shutting their mouths and nothing would be leaked to the public if your scenarios played out? BTW, instead of starting a sentence with the words "I heard," why don't you just go the extra mile and flat out say "My mommy says..." The later has just about as much credibility. In the meantime, take the tin foil hat off.
January 26th, 2010
(-2)
Actually, it's a fact that administration fees eat up most donations. You make it sound like you're informed as to what's happening in the world around you. The only thing you know for sure is that Haiti is in trouble and you've sent money to an organization for no services. Way to go dipsh*t.
January 26th, 2010

sad, but true. red cross actually keeps a lot o that dough. but there are still "legitimate" charities out there. let's not get too cynical. Conan O'brien would not approve.
January 26th, 2010
(0)
Then I guess Timaeus is one happy bastard. Also, please provide sources for your accusations. The highest number I could find on the Red Cross through several internet keyword searches yields 10%, and the number from the BBB concerning the Red Cross and UNICEF are nowhere near the mark you have stated, but I am sure BBB is part of the conspiracy as well.

finding a way to make a joke about something like this is one thing, but filling up comment threads with actual debate over things like "should i even care" and "where does the relief money go," backing up one's opinion with "i dont care, f*ck them" or "i give to charities" truly reflects a deep seeded denial that has yet to graduate from an adolescent understanding of one's own life, let alone the lives of others.

You're a propagandist for hatred and violence, obviously unaware of the debt-slavery and tyranny constantly being imposed on Haiti by the West. People that five'd this will probably be in a natural disaster and die slowly over periods of several days trapped immobile and rubble. Those that survive the initial disaster will be hard pressed to find water and food as faucets and grocery stores will no longer be reliable sources of these vital commodities. You will shortly find that you are hungry all the time, and if you're lucky you'll have a strong immune system and a genetic resistance to water born parasites and diseases that you will be exposed
