what you don't see at the end is Leo waking up on a door while the Titanic sinks close by, and it turns out JR wasn't really shot afterall. then Leo wakes up again, and he's actually Dr. Bob Hartley in bed talking to Emily. the camera pans back to show they're all in a snow globe being held by Hurley, the island's new protector, while Claire drives away and flash forwards begin to reveal how all the characters will die in the future.
