little know fact there, normyboy, that inception is derived from the Latin "begin, take in hand," no doubt because of the Stoic belief that the mind (itself focused in the animus, or our chest-al area) operated by picking up floating invisible images that were supposed to surround us. so, the mind worked like a hand, "grasping" thoughts. this is also why we talk of compre[i]hens[/i]ion, "hens" like a monkey's prehensile tail, able to grip.
