I don't mean to be a douche to you keyyek, I don't know you maybe you're not a douche. Anywho, I don't have leet image edit skillz what with my MSPaint and all so often my sites will simply involve an audio edit. Over the years I've made a lot of sites like this and have always been discouraged by their reuse by other users.

See my feeling is that there's an unlimited supply of exploitable media out there for anyone with an internet connection. When I used to make sites regularly I would sometimes just download a random movie and skim through it for 5 minutes looking for something to goof on. Sometimes they sucked sometimes they were keepers. But at least I was adding something original.

I know many claim that this sort of 'fad pasting' is what they love about YTMND. Well Tyler Perry is the highest paid man in Hollywood - that doesn't mean he's actually funny. I (must) remember an old site I made from Casablanca that was an audio edit. And I had to watch as every single conceivable audio fad was added to my site in place of my [i]original joke[/i].

Now I won't even make such sites just to avoid crap like this. Another example Fearcondom's recent Gordi site; I thought Thriller was an odd choice. But I never thought "What fad can I add to that that will be popular?" Because he thought of the joke; it's his choice. The joke is done. Move on.

That's my feeling anyway.

Well, I don't know what to tell you. I'll be the first to admit most of my stuff is uncreative bullshit. I make original sites occasionally, but it can be tough with so much of the site wanting only fad nonsense. I do these because this is what the site was about when I found it. Honestly it's sad that I couldn't experience it pre-2008 and understand that culture. I honestly hope that one day I can have as many sites as you do that I can call my own (I mean that sincerely.)

If it makes you feel any better, I was having trouble figuring out how to do the gifs when I was making [site forevergamecube:site] early on. I remembered your site, [site notforanyone:site], and finally knew how to do it, so thanks for that.

Pre-2008? It's always been this way. Before Lando sites it was Myspace suicides. And so on.

I remember when I first started making sites I downloaded all the fad assets like Myspace Suicide, Brian Peppers, etc. I just thought that's what YTMND was - something happens in the news or whatever and you try to be the first to add it to one of the fads. This lasted two weeks before I realized no, you make your stuff. That it was horrible to just repost the same jokes over and over. Some people, 6 years on, haven't made that leap. I'm not fans of their work needless to say.
