It all started because people believe in free entertainment and capitalists only wanna exploit the populous. Well, SOPA is a pro-capitalist movement that violates our rights, so as a YTMND user, I am following the bandwagon against SOP (Stop Online Piracy Act).
Apparently Wikipedia had a blackout as a result. YTMND has plummeted in popularity, and we should replenish it to pre-2007 popularity for anti-SOPA activism.
