Well, clearly, the gas prices is not going to go back to under a dollar range. You can blame many things, but you're forgetting that countries like China and India will be using more oil than the US, thus the demand for oil will be greater in the world.

Environmental laws prevent the construction of new Oil Refineries in the U.S.. That's the main reason for high gas prices.
