One factual error I noticed. Lord of the Rings uses trebuchets, not catapults. Catapults use a spoon-like construction to "push" rocks etc Trebuchet's use an arm with a type of elastic or net at the end to create thrust, thus alot more power than a catapult, thus more distance.
