Actually, even if we tapped ANWR it wouldn't make a significant enough dent in the market to drive down oil prices. It would basically be ignoring a problem that we need to solve, which is that of alternative fuels.

Don't forget, it is the plastics industry that forces us to even need their oil. If THEY did not use most of our oil, then they would not be needed.

I should probaly update this seeing I did not mention the Future's Market. They play an role in this too seeing they are the ones who drive-up the cost per barrel on the notion of "estimated value" even tho it really goes to market at less than half of it.
