For all the non-TGN geeks: In the Star Trek world lasers are kinda thought of as a mediocre weapon in comparison to their photon stuff. That's why they have that "wtf noob" expression in their voices.

there saying "lasers?" because lasers in the star trek universe is like throwing rocks. its not powerful enough to do anything. which is why if there was star trek vs starwars, starwars woudl loose on the lasers. although the ion cannons and concussion torpedoes would do alot. maybe the proton torpedoes to. although the photon the enterprise has would f*ck alot of sh*t up.
