Without a doubt the most horrible, sick, twisted, disgusting, nasty, vile, gross, sacreligious YTMND ever. That's why I favorited it. ^_^ (And I'm Jewish, too... so the guy who said "Sh*tty Jews" can go f*ck himself.)

Well, to be honest I thought the same thing about what the movie was set to "accomplish" and for a while refused to see it. While I disagree immensely with the shock value (why see it if you can read it in the Bible?) I reconsidered it afterwards when I realized the purpose of the movie was not to say "Feel bad for Jesus, be a Christian!" but rather to intelligently show people that anyone who claimed to be the Messiah, anyone else would've given up after this unspeakable horror unless he was serious and was really intent on saving mankind. At least that's how I see it, but I get where you're coming from.

And actually Jesus' story wasn't a ripoff of other mythology. There are hundreds, even thousands of references in the Old Testament predicting the coming of a savior to complete God's promise to mankind and Jesus fulfilled all the set requirements. If you choose not to believe that he "died for you" that's fine and that's your own choice. I'd just like to know that I'm sorry that there's so many very un-Christian Christians out there who give us a poor image (cough, Peterguy). Even Gandhi said that Christ was a great God to follow, but he could not see any of His teachings reflected in contemporary Christianity.
