Evolution stinks. Sure, there are modifications of the gene sequence, like this YTMND says. But it's impossible for one creature to adapt/modify so much that it becomes a totally different creature altogher.

Don't get it confused with Evolutionary THEORIES. It has NOT been scientifically proven that humans developed from an earlier species yet, but there is a lot of evidence for it.

Amino acids and proteins will inevitably occur in the right conditions. All that is needed are the right chemicals + other forces moving chemicals + billions of years. Something will happen eventually.

it's interesting how much stock people put in scientific theory. sure, microevolution is readily proven, macroevolution isn't. Just before wanting to believe everyone came from a common (species) ancestor, they tried to prove that black ppl weren't human. Go science! (I actually like science, just not fitting science to personal bias:P)

Black human are closest related to the original Homo. Life all began in Africa, they were just lazy cuz they didn't want to explore. Others did and they formed the other races that later on would discover more and more.

I agree Lave, I can't be 100% sure gravity will pull me towards the ground each day, but that's no reason to question if it will or not.

Some theories just have a lot more evidence than others. Metaphysical realm, a lot more theoretical stuff. I just don't use that term literally for everything.

thymne - we didn't evolve from monkeys, we and monkeys share a common ancestor. But yes you can cop out and only believe in micro evolution - but then surely the more primative humans would just say the same thing - that they evolved from more primative primtive humans and so on back to "monkeys"

Old posts but.. Microevolution is what I was referring to before.. that's an observable process, which means that evolution is an objectively understood concept, if only in that scenario. As for theories that humans evolve faster than other species, we'll be able to confirm the validity of these claims eventually, if humans are still thriving many thousands of years from now.

Although in theory, it might be possible to look at some events that occured millions of years ago with the right technology. This is because if scientists can view planets and space many, many light years away.. the light that is reaching their powerful telescopes took many years to get there, so it would be showing them the past.

(just fiction) but still, if there was a way to get a powerful telescope on the far end of the universe to display images of earth from that point, it could be zooming in on events from billions of years ago.
