ANTIGRAVITY CAT-TOAST HAS RETURNED!
2006-06-24 04:36:11

Woulda been funnier if there was a stick of Chapstik coming down saying "lol, nedm" or "lol, gravity"
2006-06-24 04:36:53

dude... -9.8 m/s/s *is* gravity. +9.8m/s/s is anti-gravity.
2006-06-24 04:37:50

that depends entirely on frame of reference. if lol gravity is +9.8 m/s/s, then lol antigravity is -9.8
2006-06-24 04:38:23

no wait...-9.8 m/s/s is not anti-gravity, but gravity itself...yeah. lol
2006-06-24 04:38:58

I second twindizzle2009's sentiment.
2006-06-24 04:40:42

i know what you mean, but it wouldn't make sense in the YTMND world unless jeremyspoken22 changes his title to -9.8
2006-06-24 04:42:52

If 9.8m/s^2 is the speed of gravity downard toward earth, then -9.8 m/s^2 is the speed away from earth. You never hear it refered to as -9.8 m/s^2 for grav in a text book.
2006-06-24 04:44:27

it works either way, it's just that since gravity moves "DOWN" from a 2D point of view, it's usually represented as a negative number.
2006-06-24 04:45:13

I reverse my statement. In any math equasions, vertical trajectory: Find X: Height= -GravityX^2 + InitialSpeedX
2006-06-24 04:47:31

LMFAO! and who the f*ck cares about the real formula for anti-gravity u f*cking nerds, he was just mocking the other ytmnd. f*cking killurself for trying to sound smart on this site. go watch some russians on livejasmin.com lawl
2006-06-24 04:47:58

lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!
2006-06-24 04:48:23

if you REALLY wanted to get technical about it, you could say that simply opposing gravity isn't enough to give you an upward trajectory...you'll just float. but again, I'm only concerned with making it look like the opposite of the other site
2006-06-24 04:51:37

xenontc, i agree. f*cking nerds
2006-06-24 04:51:55

Then again, the difference between 9.8 and -9.8 is 19.6, which is double gravity; falling upward.
2006-06-24 05:03:00

who cares, this site owns lol
2006-06-24 05:28:45

"dude... -9.8 m/s/s *is* gravity. +9.8m/s/s is anti-gravity." No it isn't. The definition of "positive y-direction is up" is entirely arbitrary. If you define "positive y-direction is down", then negative values are up. You just need to be consistent.
2006-06-24 06:09:01

9.8m/s either way.

The best thing about Toastcat? He defies gravity!
2006-06-24 08:07:01

YES I LOVE THAT CAT!
2006-06-24 08:36:19

Fad'd.

5 for Anti-Gravity cat.

XD

"dude... -9.8 m/s/s *is* gravity. +9.8m/s/s is anti-gravity." and that is why this site gets a 1

it aint spped anyway it's accelleration. gg ytmnd
2006-06-24 09:56:48

Toast makes you fly eh? *jumps off house with toast on back* *CRASH*
2006-06-24 10:09:22

gravity is a negative form of force... es stupido!
2006-06-24 10:40:04

lol physics
2006-06-24 11:00:35

indeed for this, use the magnitude 9.81 [m/s^2] to be safe, as the basis coordinate system is arbitrarily chosen. See, that's the point, the physics doesn't change no matter what coordinate system you choose. But still, 9.81 is just 'g', which is the ~1/r^2 gravity field const from the mass of our planet in F=GMm/r^2=gm. Anti-gravity would have to be way more complicated, hense the cat. Also toast.
2006-06-24 11:07:11

you suck at physics
2006-06-24 11:12:18

Like others have said, the leading sign is negligible since it depends on your reference point. In the case of these 2 YTMND's, the original used 9.8 to signify towards Earth, so the opposite (away from Earth) would be -9.8. In conclusion, you shouldn't care so much about details like this.
2006-06-24 11:21:26

"You never hear it refered to as -9.8 m/s^2 for grav in a text book" yes, actually, you do.
2006-06-24 11:25:13

5'd for gratuitous pûssy. Also, PHYSICS FTL. I'm taking US History for summer school, not physics. I'm ƒucking done with hearing about frames of reference, etc. Go nerd it up somewhere else. Like on the internet with the other nerds.
2006-06-24 11:36:35

:d
2006-06-24 11:57:46

You could have also made this into "lol, normal force" or something.
2006-06-24 11:58:06

5 for toast cat.
2006-06-24 12:29:19

lmao ftw
2006-06-24 17:39:46

Funny. And thank you for not referencing NEDM in any way.
2006-06-29 00:43:58

-9m/s/s would be non grav in a 9m/s/s world 9m/s/s could aslo be anti grav if was opposite the direction of the original gravity -9m/s/s is a deceleration value
2006-07-05 22:48:04

There is no such thing as -9.8 m/s/s. Being repelled from the earth you are still going '+' 9.8, just in a different direction.

2006-07-09 20:06:43

ehhh...this isn't "lol, anti-gravity" its "lol, floating." because gravity and the opposing force would keep you presicely where you were, rather than moving you "up" or "down". -1 for inaccuracy.
2006-07-11 16:17:29

Look at the nerds arguing over something you learn in 9th grade Physics.
2006-07-12 00:15:02

9.8 m/s/s ftw
2006-07-14 01:57:01

hmm, the bubble is kind of pixely BUT its still pretty sweet
2006-07-19 04:00:42

not 9.8 but 9.81 m/s²
2006-07-19 16:02:09

not 9.81, but 9.806... and so on
2006-07-19 23:43:57

awesome but id like to see it as a PTKFGS
2006-07-24 01:19:10

Would be cool if the music played backwards or something.
2006-07-24 02:44:01

depends on where you but your verticle axis. but normally, downward is considered negative. Damn everyone is pawning you good....
2006-07-30 23:39:23

lol

-9.81 m/s² !
2006-08-01 21:16:58

Bwahahahahahaha
2006-08-08 08:55:50

-9.8 m/s/s is, to be perfectly technical, slowing down, not flying up.

I knew as soon as I went to view comments there would be smart asses trying to tell you how your site is physically incorrect. They're dumb.
2006-08-13 14:16:31

LOL PHYSICS FIGHT! Though, I would have been more amused if you made it positive, to be honest. I've never done a problem where downwards acceleration was positive.
2006-08-15 22:10:26

"dude... -9.8 m/s/s *is* gravity. +9.8m/s/s is anti-gravity."-twindizzle2009 umm dude that depends on refrence point, your correct if your refrence point is above the cat
2006-08-15 22:38:47

Physics is pwned.
2006-08-19 21:04:32

loving the idiots who get C- in high school physics and suddenly think they know everything. i'm a physics major, and for the record, relativity says that there is no set frame of reference and therefore g can be either positive or negative, depending on how you decide to orient it. also 1.
