jm8881, you don't understand the displacement. The reason ice floats is because it's less dense. If you made the ice in the shape of a boat, it would still displace the same amount of water. But here's an experiment for you. Get equal amounts of water. Turn one into an ice cube and leave the other as water (beware of evil evaporation!) Now, in separate graduated cylinders, introduce the ice and the water. Does the water level go up the same in both? But yes, much of the world's ice is on land, like

in antarctica and in greenland and northern parts of Canada and asian. But another thing to consider is, if the world heats up then the AIR will be able to hold more water, too. Not all ice is not in the water, so how can it displace ice? See glaciers, see ice on land, or just see someone who isn't retarded so they can educate you on whats funny.
