hmmm...
2006-07-18 13:06:03

2nd to comment on a revolutionary ytmnd
2006-07-18 13:07:06

awwwwwwwwwwww gay. screw you dyskrasia
2006-07-18 13:07:07

Genesis ftw. And good job on that idea. I'm surprised it hasn't already been done.
2006-07-18 13:09:26

Hell yes. Everybody upvote this please!
2006-07-18 13:10:26

5'd for having NEDM in, but not in an annoying way
2006-07-18 13:11:11

5d because I thing your right. But I´m getting tired from the music
2006-07-18 13:13:04

2006-07-18 13:14:14

+3 because you have the Girl from Charmed at the End. I love her.
2006-07-18 13:14:24

Search by fad!
2006-07-18 13:14:26

there should be six stars
2006-07-18 13:17:26

Awesome idea!
2006-07-18 13:18:00

While the example took a bit too long to work out...I totally agree. I've been called out on having made redundant sites...but the current search didn't find ANY of the keywords when I did concept searches for said sites. Also, users need to actually INPUT keywords, which in most cases they don't.
2006-07-18 13:19:12

Good idea.
2006-07-18 13:20:54

very good.
2006-07-18 13:21:27

I agree, but your ytmnd was waaaay too long. It could have just been a single picture.
2006-07-18 13:22:21

YES!!!! KING D AGREES 100%!!! We could use some more great ideas from people like you, Dark Tree.
2006-07-18 13:22:38

If the advanced search shall work (it's a great idea btw) people needs to fix their plucking origins. Way to many uses only Google and ytmnd.
2006-07-18 13:23:39

You dork, you know you can just post in the News section, right? But seriously, nicely made. My favorite part is the "refresh to rewatch". I'd have let it loop forever if you hadn't added that.
2006-07-18 13:23:54

I agree
2006-07-18 13:24:06

GREAT idea
2006-07-18 13:24:25

"It could have just been a single picture." a single picture cannot express the frustration we feel when we can't find what we want on the search.
2006-07-18 13:25:07

i want ytmnd to pour me drinks also.
2006-07-18 13:25:09

Did you give yourself a little plug on the top rated section?
2006-07-18 13:25:57

AMPERSAND POUND EIGHTY-SIX
2006-07-18 13:26:55

max mentioned working on something like this a while ago
2006-07-18 13:30:17

ytmnd needs retinal scans as well...
2006-07-18 13:31:19

Best idea I've seen in a while. NOTIFY THE AUTHORITIES!!!!!
2006-07-18 13:32:43

Max did mentioned the search by fad feature long ago,but this is awesome.
2006-07-18 13:34:21

Good ideas. Maybe make make a "Subscribe to user" option so youll get an alert whenever they make a new site; also rating monitoring, like, every day, it'll tell you how many votes your site got in the last 24 hours and how it has affected the rating (nasdaq style); also real user profiles, and maybe an active chatting system to go along with the PMing system.
2006-07-18 13:34:28

I agree, I've always hoped for an advanced search - simply searching the titles isn't specific enough. Also Genesis FTW.
2006-07-18 13:35:08

I think its a good idea
2006-07-18 13:35:37

Well, I could think of a lot of things that would improve this site, but usually send those to Max, since, uh, he's the administrator. But you make some good points, and I would like to see less redundancy. Your idea has one weakness however: NOBODY EVER CITES THIER SOUND AND IMAGE ORIGINS!
2006-07-18 13:36:03

Klasky has some excellent ideas. wish.ytmnd.com
2006-07-18 13:36:06

Up and coming user list
2006-07-18 13:37:02

Memeber ranking, or average user ranking
2006-07-18 13:37:09

Good Ideas
2006-07-18 13:37:15

fad search for sure... and mechanical v*ginas
2006-07-18 13:37:19

good idea
2006-07-18 13:37:23

needlessly too long
2006-07-18 13:37:39

You should have added to that a new reporting system specifically for inside jokes. Whether it is funny or not is sometimes a matter of opinion (though not usually). However, inside joke is an objective stratification, and there's nothing worse than opening a YTMND and some f*ck has scribbled all over his favorite drunk photo with microsoft paint.
2006-07-18 13:39:02

good idea
2006-07-18 13:39:11

o ok
2006-07-18 13:40:17

Those are EXCELLENT ideas. Especially the advance search. But one I really would like to see besides the search the most is a preview button for when you submitting a page. To see what your submitting before it hits the front page so it avoids having you to delete and resubmitting to correct.
2006-07-18 13:40:43

-5 for using the word "bollocks" and for an idea that was pitched months ago
2006-07-18 13:41:35

advance search is a nice idea. favorite users, however, blows.
2006-07-18 13:42:21

I see no anti-EBW sentiments in your other sites, so you've earned your 5.
2006-07-18 13:44:31

Advanced Search needs to be done. Favorite Users isn't needed, but it would be a nice addition. "Those are EXCELLENT ideas. Especially the advance search. But one I really would like to see besides the search the most is a preview button for when you submitting a page. To see what your submitting before it hits the front page so it avoids having you to delete and resubmitting to correct." I second Outerheaven.
2006-07-18 13:44:55

I had a feeling happycat/nedm would make an appearance, considering how damn long and slow this thing is. anyway I approve, also this is exactly why I favorite any site I plan to watch at a later date
-1
2006-07-18 13:47:09

Agreed, we definitely need a keyword search at the very least.
2006-07-18 13:47:25

Wow, this is beautiful. Well done. I applaud thee.
2006-07-18 13:47:50

i think we should have some kind of instant fad button. if one ytmnd you're watching REALLY sucks, you push it and all our favorite characters bounce around the screen to a random ytmnd song
2006-07-18 13:48:13

Oh, and 5 for Firefox.
2006-07-18 13:49:43

"Search by fad!" Already exists pretty much. Just type "NEDM" "NSMB" or anything like that into regular search and you will end up with half a million results. (Half a million exactly, no more and no less.)
2006-07-18 13:50:07

5'd because it's TRUE! :)
2006-07-18 13:50:29

+5 for nedm
2006-07-18 13:50:44

lol, as soon as i saw this i exited it out b/c i actually thought max made an advanced search
2006-07-18 13:51:26

Good stuff, and easily implemented. If YTMND needs help with this, send me an email. I've been doing PHP development for 6+ years now.
2006-07-18 13:52:28

No, you'd still get idiots/beginners who won't search before making "Zidane Headbutt", but it'd be useful for the rest of us!
2006-07-18 13:52:59

Not a bad idea.
2006-07-18 13:54:26

2006-07-18 13:54:37

Yes.
2006-07-18 13:54:58

it would be awesome if everyone CITED THEIR SOURCES!!!
2006-07-18 13:58:03

Sweet music, sweet concept, but so so so bleeding long, as was mentioned before. I accidentally closed it early, then reopened it again and watched at least 10 other ytmnds (as well as writing this comment) while I waited for it to progress to the point at which I closed it.
2006-07-18 13:58:11

Make is it so, Max.
2006-07-18 13:58:17

Agreed, agreed, agreed to the nth degree. :]
2006-07-18 13:58:18

Me Likie.
2006-07-18 14:02:04

Max needs to put 3 or 4 sites in HOF already..
2006-07-18 14:02:15

Nice DT, lol, BOLLOCKS!
2006-07-18 14:07:52

Excellent Suggestion, 5'd
2006-07-18 14:12:14

the only problem i see is all those stupid people who dont cite their sources. good plan though.
2006-07-18 14:13:14

Strongly seconded. -1 for unnecessary Firefox statusbar/ad.
2006-07-18 14:13:35

NICE>
2006-07-18 14:13:39

NEDM
2006-07-18 14:14:56

The biggest problem right now is the New Age Retarded Voters, so what we really need before any of these things is a weighted voting system where users with more sites and better ratings have more powerful votes.
2006-07-18 14:15:10

"the only problem i see is all those stupid people who dont cite their sources." It's their fault and loss if they lose views. Besides, it's the only way a blind person with a screen reader can get the gist of a ytmnd.
2006-07-18 14:16:01

Oustanding idea, well presented, and a good demonstration - we've all had this thought before but it'd never occurred to me how this might reduce YTMND redundancy. And we all know that "can't find that hilarious one from last week" syndrome. I wonder if implementing these search terms would tax the server. Also, I love the "subscribe to favorite user" feature idea.
2006-07-18 14:16:47

I salute you, DarkTree
2006-07-18 14:17:28

Favorite Users probably shouldn't be public. Otherwise you get the "-1 for being friends with moheevi 'cause he associated NEDM with Happycat" scenario and such crap.
2006-07-18 14:17:37

wow i never thought of an advanced search for ytmnd. i thought a half functioning barely usable and most-of-the-time-broken search is what everyone wanted.
+2
2006-07-18 14:18:53

^ lol
2006-07-18 14:22:34

superbe
2006-07-18 14:24:30

bigger bewbs
2006-07-18 14:28:07

I thought up something like this before except I didn't make an awesome ytmnd of it. good job!
2006-07-18 14:29:10

Good idea, but this YTMND could have been way, way shorter.
2006-07-18 14:29:17

Should be able to search by fad, too
2006-07-18 14:30:13

looks cool
2006-07-18 14:34:34

great idea!
2006-07-18 14:38:54

5, excellent.
2006-07-18 14:40:30

What was that one ytmnd? You know, the one with the Genesis song? And there was searching in it...
2006-07-18 14:40:48

5'd for implementation
2006-07-18 14:45:48

very nice :)I agree completely
2006-07-18 14:51:35

agreed, but could have been shorter not that it matters.
2006-07-18 14:51:59

2006-07-18 14:53:59

Coo, get working on that and report on your progress Friday.
2006-07-18 14:56:22

boring ytmnd
2006-07-18 14:58:15

lol, max is a sarcastic *sshole ftw :)
2006-07-18 15:01:06

Those features would be neat :P
2006-07-18 15:02:00

3 for good idea, +1 for genesis, +1 for connery.
2006-07-18 15:02:01

5'd. Those are all great features I'd love to see.

Not funny.
2006-07-18 15:05:30

Thats great
2006-07-18 15:08:06

i've been wanting this feature for quite a while...
2006-07-18 15:08:12

I guess I have to agree.
2006-07-18 15:11:27

Once again, Brilliant. im sure this has happened to all of us.
2006-07-18 15:11:55

Yes! for use of Connery's head as point bullets.

2006-07-18 15:20:05

I like this idea.
2006-07-18 15:21:02

Great idea, also respect for "bollocks" fellow Englander!
2006-07-18 15:21:55

Widget-style frontpage rankings, which can be opened and compressed.
2006-07-18 15:22:18
