Well, until recently with commercials like the one being parodied here, but the Mac people have had to deal with it for years. Haha, I just saw someone call Mac OS crash heavy! LOL! That just shows that the last time they used a Mac was in the 1990s. I've had my G4 for almost 5 years and never had a major system problem. If a program goes down, the system almost always stays up. You might be surprised to learn that Mac DOES have a task manager and you can quit unresponsive programs, but it's not like you would know that since you obiviously don't ever use Macs (or maybe just not properly).

Why the low end macbook pro is not worth $1800 (with edu discount, normally it's $2000): 1. Core 2 Duo is coming out in about a week 2. It only has 512mb of RAM 3. You could get so much more out of a pc laptop's hardware for ~$2k

I 1'd this, not because I'm a PC guy, because this ytmnd took nothing to make. On the debate in this thread, Mac is better than pc with some things, while vise versa...but the Mac commercials are horrible cause the piss people off more than convince/persuade them.

The new Mac commercials are really an inside joke. Mac users have had to put up with the snobbery of windows user for years, so now that macs are becoming more popular it's kind of funny to watch the roles get reversed! As has been said before, Mac is ok, but they would be doing much better if Apple weren't always trying to control everything. They only want you to get their hardware, made by them, they were screwed for years because they wanted to control all the software that could go on a Mac, that's why they were getting hosed for so long. Also the way that Apple has done left out some software features on iPods when used on Windows machines, features that have easily been programed in by private programers in their

spare time, and how they DRM iTunes music downloads so they can only be used on iPods, or create new formats for the express purpose of incopatability, shows me enough of Apple's business ideals for me not to like them. The way I see it, a lot of Windows Zealots sit there and think they're leet simply because MS has the bigger userbase. Mac nuts think they're l33t because they like to consider themselves against the norm and against MS. OS X and Linux are just as competent as Windows XP, and would have your precious game support if they had superiority over the computer world. Microsoft is a primarily a software company, Apple is hardware and software. Apple has to make a profit just like everyone else, it just happens to

Ok, AnarchyAndy, here's how you copy and paste a file on Mac OS X (I have an older version in which you can copy and paste them, but not cut and paste them. The newer ones may be different). Step 1.) Select a file by clicking on it. Step 2.) Hit Command-C, or, go to the "Edit" menu and select "Copy". Step 3.) Open the window of the location where you want to put the file. Step 4.) Press Apple-V, or, go to the "Edit" menu and select "Paste item". Do this and you will have just copied and pasted a f

Where it says "command", that is the same as the "Apple" key, but if you've been using Macs for 5 yars I'm sure you know that. I didn't mean to use both names for it in the instructions.

As for PC's vs. Macs, now that Apple has put intel chips in new Macs (sorry, AMD), getting a Mac and putting Windows on it is probably the best way to go, because then the only argument PC people have is that you can mix and match parts and build your own computer (and right click, lol). I don't understand why people keep saying Macs can't right click. My mac at home has four buttons, and OS X has built-in right -click features. Also, I tested my right-clicking on Unreal Tournament, Quake III, and Myth III and they ALL worked with right-clicking. I know those are a little old but that's about when I stopped getting new games. Almost every new mac program has right-clicking. Please shut up .

Actually, http://www.apple.com/games/ and http://www.macledge.com/ but that doesn't change the fact that you could right click long ago on Mac, and actually, what USUSALLY happens (with only a couple notable exceptions) is that the Mac version just comes out a little later.

It's understandable that those commercials would piss off some PC users, but Mac users aren't all jerks. Also, Macs can do anything you would really need them to unless you want to build one from scratch or do strange things with it's innards (although you can to some degree, e.g. overclocking). If I wanted to, I could say things like "In Windows you don't have built-in screen capture", or, "in Windows you can't immediately display all open windows in miniature form on the screen so you can find the one you're looking for" but I think those are just minor differences in the operating system and not really worth mentioning.

Windows does have screen capture, and I'm pretty sure that finding the appropriate window is what the taskbar is for. Of course if you don't like windows you can find some other operating system, without spending 3k on a sh*tty mac.

The truth is, any system has its advantages and disadvantages. While they may not be for some people, today's Macs are great computers. There has always been a bias against Macs just because some people are unfamiliar with them or dislike a certain aspect of them. If you don't like them, that's your own business, I'm just trying to dispell a lot of common myths.
