If Gimp's got a motion blur filter, damn straight it will work. I tried to make it non-Imageready/Photoshop specific.

For photo editing, I recommend Adobe Photoshop (expensive) or Gimp (free). For gif creating/editing, Adobe Imageready (expensive, but f*ckin' awesome) or perhaps Animation Shop (cheaper). There are probably a couple more good editors that I either forgot or I'm not aware of.

Actually, you forgot Fireworks.

Slow down the framerate at the start :P

Simply a great tutorial.

A nice tutorial, but they can work it even further by smoothing the areas where the photos "connect" so you don't wind up with that clipped drop-off area that goes by. Ya know?

I plead guilty. My first YtMND was a failure of a "LOL,(fill in the blank)" While I had no intention to give it such a background, that was a fancy tutorial. Well done. It has filled my brain with the juicy knowledge it needs should it desire to make a real "LOL, (fill in the blank)" YtMND in the near future.

I hear ya, Lupin. I almost added a step like that in, but I kinda feared it would confuse Jimbo more. So I opted for the most basic version.

The 2 steps to crop to 300x300 and then duplicate again to 600x300 seem kind of extraneous. Why not crop to 600x300 from the start? But good tutorial otherwise.
