2006-09-20 02:53:04

I know!
2006-09-20 02:57:03

LOL! i saw that too. it's cause it's an interoplation of 2 pictures, each taken by the satellite at a different position
2006-09-20 02:57:54

I'd like to call that a "mindf*ck", zorgzorg.
2006-09-20 02:58:07

^ got it in before me.
2006-09-20 02:58:46

Hmm. I want to visit that place!
2006-09-20 02:59:13

hold your finger up, put your head directly over it, and move your head around it as a satellite would move itself relative to the earth (these pic taking satellites aren't geosynchronous). you can see yourself how the pictures turnd out that way.
2006-09-20 03:01:13

they assemble images..
2006-09-20 03:01:15

Can I just call it a mind-f*ck, please?
2006-09-20 03:01:49

2006-09-20 03:56:01

OHMAH GAWD THE CITY IS FALLING OVER. Seriously though, try to look at manhattan on google earth this sh*t is all over.
2006-09-20 03:56:39

's just because they spliced images from two or more satelites together - they were viewing at different angles and so the buildings look like they're leaning different ways, BTW.
2006-09-20 03:57:54

lol, nsfw!
2006-09-20 03:58:06

Houston sucks, I'm stuck here.

2006-09-20 05:24:39

I know what their problem is: They Build That City on Rock and Roll.
2006-09-20 05:31:06

Yeah, that happens a lot... That's not one photo, it's two. Because of the angle skyscrapers appear to the satelite, you'll inevitably end up with this sorta thing near the edges of the photos. But it's.... damn disorienting.
2006-09-20 05:34:58

what they all said about the angles and multiple pictures, still cool to look at though
2006-09-20 05:43:54

Wait, what?
2006-09-20 08:30:28

this is pretty similar stuff to stuff I'm working with now, but I've never dealt with anything of that contrasting obliqueness
2006-09-20 08:52:17

this is what happens when two sattelites with different orbital planes take the same picture. Help to save google earth. Go bug nasa about their sattelites!
2006-09-20 08:54:02

Yeah, I've noticed that, too
2006-09-20 08:57:23

"I know what their problem is: They Build That City on Rock and Roll." - loooool
2006-09-20 09:16:08

ah Sim City on acid!
2006-09-20 09:17:42

LoL nice find, different sattelite images spliced together.
2006-09-20 09:32:23

IT's obviously due to a problem in the curviture of space-time. Probably some alien spaceship with a cloaking device. Also, Houston has really good architects.
2006-09-20 09:34:21

excellent! excellent! order from chaos!
2006-09-20 09:39:19

I've seen that alot on Google Earth, mostly in Tokyo.
2006-09-20 09:53:45

That's because some retard pressed "Print Screen" in different positions.
+1

Lol
2006-09-20 10:06:06

Dr. who music plz
2006-09-20 10:10:58

the rise in greenhouse gases turns the atmosphere into a warped lens when the Earth is viewed from space. that, combined with the Coriolis effect, causes that lens to literally fracture over near-equator locations.

2006-09-20 10:16:47

it's what happens when you stitch together photos from an AIRPLANE/HELICOPTER
2006-09-20 10:33:30

wow, freaky
2006-09-20 10:45:33

You just have to turn your head slightly to the right. Then you can see things fine. Caught me off guard at first though.
2006-09-20 10:47:14

Upon closer inspection, yes, there is something messed with this picture. I withdraw my previous statement.
2006-09-20 10:47:32

AHHHAHAH too many perspectiveS!! (head asplode)
2006-09-20 10:50:06

I work for a company that does orthophotography (that’s what that is) had to stitch images like that all the time. That was a bad move though, shouldn’t have stitched it like that. Next time they need to single spot shot on the center of down town.
2006-09-20 10:55:44

◄This is more like '4th dimensional city'►
2006-09-20 10:56:55
