I watched the video. Looks like a gay version of StarCraft.

Halo wasn't that good of a game. To me, the story was a little dry, I was uninterested in a lot of it. And the gameplay itself wasn't too great either. Though I did enjoy the vehicles and some of the weapondry. Need to see gameplay before I can have an idea how good this one will be.

Halo 3 is still being developed by Bungie, Halo Wars is being developed by Ensemble. The original Halo started as a Mac RTS, then moved to a 3rd person shooter, then finally an Xbox FPS. Halo Wars is being developed specifically for the Xbox 360, so it will be built for a controller. It will likely be much more combat based rather than base building and economy. Halo 1 is on the PC, Halo 2 is coming to the PC on Vista, Halo Wars will likely make it there in time.

I dont think Halo is much fun. Why is it fun to kill and shoot Aliens/bug-thingies? Compared to Goldeneye 007 the Halo series is nothing. Give me humans and good game levels anyday.

People don't understand. HALO WAS ORIGINALLY AN RTS! After years of development it grew into an FPS, but most things in Halo like the backstory, the theme and the ring-shaped world were originally made for an RTS. I've seen most of the vehicles in Halo (including some Halo 2 vehicles: spectre, gauss hog) in the pixely screenshots of the early rts development stages. Now Halo is going to be the game it was originally planned to be.

I'm just pointing out that it isn't just taking a franchise and sucking it dry. It's more like taking the original concept of something and finishing it. If a movie script turns out to be a good book to read it doesn't mean that the movie is going to be awful.
