I grew up playing the Doom series and I can safely say it is infinatly better than Halo in almost every aspect (although close tie with multiplayer options). But the first Zelda was great as was Goldeneye even though they aren't THAT old.

Pah, kids these days! All graphics and no gameplay! In my day, we only had a four frame walk cycle! Those were the days...and they were great days too! Sometimes our sprites would change size for no apparent reason! Kids these days are spoiled...battery back-up, save files - three lives and three continues were all we had! You can run AND jump? We had to make do with one button and a joystick! There are too many levels! We only had four levels - a single screen, every one! None of this fancy scrolling back

Ocarina came out well after my the noontime of my video game life, but the period in my life during which I played it was one of the best. I'll always associate that game with the good memories that came out of that year. 5 for that.

hopefully there's more excitement in one's life than video games.

Halo in my opinion has crappy gameplay. The first game was corridor after corridor, with retarded backtracking. Granted the graphics were good, and the big battles were fun. But otherwise there are plenty of better shooters out there IMO. Halo 2 < Halo 1. Yay i can hold 2 guns now, but can't melee with 2 guns in my hand I have to drop one. I also find Xbox Live to be a joke, and refuse to play it online. HL1 is greater than the entire Halo series so far.

Also HL2 is better than HL 1, it actually improved the game. Saying Halo 3 is going to be better than Half life is a silly comment for one. I am not saying I hate Halo, I am just saying it is really over rated. Deus Ex, HL, System shock, Doom, Quake, Unreal, Far Cry....etc all are great shooters, what makes halo better than them? In my book nothing.
