wtf was that
2006-12-08 19:58:15

Unfortunately I don't have 27 minutes to appreciate the joke... this is like a poorer version of "Telemarketer"

YTMND is not the official home for all conversations with low paid phone operators. Yes, you were correct. Yes, he is an idiot. No, this doesn't have anything to do with Verizon and everything to do with low paid phone operators. No, this isn't novel. If you paid a 4 year old to clean your house, your house will not get clean. If you pay someone who couldn't pass algebra to calculate your rates, you will not get correct calculations. If you find this shocking, you should kill yourself.

F*CK DOWNVOTERS!
2006-12-08 20:20:43

lol at Korf's comment
2006-12-08 20:24:21

Seriously. These guys, these telemarketers, these customer service representatives, they are people. They are humans. They are not mathematical super computers. I don't know what you expect from these professionals (who yes are sadly often underpaid), but they have better things to do than to play with numbers idiotically for the amusement of the most easily entertained of teenagers. And if people think they somehow have some level of mental superiority for doing this kind of thing, remember this dude just

made 10 bucks pissing around with your sorry *ss doing nothing. I understand this isn't your clip and I'm not directing this to you cybersteve, but to anyone who gets joy out of this. Seriously stop and think. There's some funny ways to f*ck with 'em sure, but they get paid the same either way. Unless they are paid on commision, then f*ck those losers, f*ck with them all you want. Bwahahahaahaa.

I dont think you know how to do math either. First, the highest minimum wage in the US is Washington at $7.93 per hour thus for this 27 min conversation the guy would have made roughly $3.57 (in Kansas he might only make $1.19) nowhere near your estimate of $10. Retard... Also, him being ruthlessly embarassed on the phone actually working is better than him sitting on his *ss in a cubicle getting paid for doing nothing.
2006-12-08 20:27:26

^ what he said
2006-12-08 20:29:00

Funny, but after a while it was painful to listen.
2006-12-08 20:29:46

A guy makes a simple error so he's badgered for 27 minutes?
2006-12-08 20:31:55

ITS OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND
2006-12-08 20:32:55

Korf41, you are hilarious.
2006-12-08 20:34:01

This has nothing to do with math.. This is a misscommunication..
2006-12-08 20:34:56

next hall of fame right here
2006-12-08 20:36:07

yeah well if u want it cheap u gotta deal with sh*tty costumer service commie
2006-12-08 20:37:06

good, but not your work.
2006-12-08 20:38:36

Doesn't sound like he's underpaid, sounds like he's 'appropriately paid'
2006-12-08 20:40:59

lolololololo teh nerd totally pwned the n00b on teh phone!!11!1!1111!!!!
2006-12-08 20:44:55

I can't understand why people are defending him. It's nothing a grade 5 kid with a calculator couldn't have handled. At least, he should have given the phone to someone else, presumably someone with an elementary school education.
2006-12-08 20:47:47

Anything that has to do with Telemarketers gets an automactic one.
2006-12-08 20:53:37

This site is a three at best, but I need to offset at least 1 of the downvoters downvoting this solely because of "how to prank a telemarketer". I for one, welcome our new prank calling overlords.
2006-12-08 20:59:40

Now was the .2 or .002 stars?
2006-12-08 21:02:01

heh

2006-12-08 21:27:44

Please, no more recorded calls or call-related jokes from random internet sites...please?
2006-12-08 21:30:30

Wow, what a bunch of idiots.
2006-12-08 22:41:03

I'm a big proponent of the factor label method... (.002 cents/kilobyte) ($/100cents) (35893kilobytes) = $.72... Plus the operator should realize $71 for 35MB of bandwidth is abso-f*cking-lutely ridiculous.
2006-12-08 23:25:54

Korf41 and frenchbreadpizza FTW
2006-12-09 04:49:58

Revenge downvoting is bad, mmkay? You are the epitome of a sh*tty YTMNDer.
2006-12-09 05:52:39

lol, stolen soundclips from a recorded phonecall. good jokez.
2006-12-09 12:26:37

This is amazing! These people are SO stupid.
2006-12-09 13:24:48

You have to realise that this wasn't a prank call. The guy wanted to correct his bill and because of some stupids on the other line, he was having a hard time. A hard time that took 27 minutes, i guess.
2006-12-09 14:06:14

You can do better than this, as evidenced by http://dennisnedrybutterfingers.ytmnd.com
2006-12-09 14:57:04

The intergral of (Effort / length) as length approaches 27 minutes and effort approaches 0 is 0. I can't give this a 0, so I'll give it a 1.
2006-12-09 14:58:08

Oops. Replace "integral" with "limit"
2006-12-09 18:18:04

isnt this already up?
2006-12-09 18:28:23

im going to get the chocolate phone.

2006-12-09 18:55:05

Can we track this employee down somehow and call him a sh*tf*ck?
2006-12-09 19:50:21

been done before http://verizonfails.ytmnd.com/
2006-12-10 02:38:11

If only the public education was worth something and did a decent job of teaching people useful things like math.
2006-12-10 16:21:55

I like the other version better, but you were first, so five stars and a cookie.
2006-12-10 17:55:23

THAT IS GREAT!!!

2006-12-09 19:50:21 BuzzPower been done before http://verizonfails.ytmnd.com/ holy f*ck are you retarded? Check the creation date, this one was created first.
2006-12-10 22:05:21

i love what frenchbread says: "they have more to do than play with numbers idiotically for the amusement of teenagers". OR... This guy could've been trying to get his goddamned money back, partly because he had been GROSSLY overcharged, and partly because verizon needs to hire people with more skill and more HAVING PASSED 8TH GRADE TALENT! ONE DOLLAR IS NOT ONE CENT, .002 DOLLARS IS NOT .002 CENTS! THIS IS NOT "IDIOTICALLY PLAYING WITH NUMBERS, THIS IS COMMON F*CKING SENSE GODDAMNIT!
2006-12-11 01:57:00

Frenchbreadpizza's argument is insane and basically invalid. You don't need to be a mathematical supercomputer to recognize the difference between $0.002 and 0.002¢. The caller is not solely trying to f*ck around; he has completely legitimate reasons to fight the case if he actually was indeed told of a 0.002¢/KB rate. If I had that quote, I'd sure as hell want to pay it over the real one.
2006-12-11 01:58:36

Personally, I think the caller should have declared 0.002¢ as $0.00002, and then asked "Is two one-hundred-thousandths, or point zero zero zero zero zero two dollars, equal to two one-thousandths, or point zero zero two dollars?" And then made the calculations using that number. He could have also tried explaining that the same units going into it must be the same coming out, but given their rampant stupidity, I doubt they would even comprehend *that*.
2006-12-11 02:27:22

oh my god... it gets better the more I listen to it
2006-12-11 11:12:47

-4 for having a blog and thinking we care about your opinion
2006-12-11 17:26:30

Korf41: You don't need algebra to figure out simple arithmetic. I could figure this math out when I was 8.
2006-12-11 18:17:15

This is unbelievably hilarious.
2006-12-11 19:52:22

I'm switching my three on the other site which I saw first to this one. I wouldn't compare this to the telemarketer thing first because he is trying to get his money back and second because this is elementary math. Not High school even, I learned how to do multiplication and change dollars to cents in elementary school, which these people apparently couldn't pass (yes that would put someone easily into the mentally impaired range). Also for those defending telemarketers, they choose to work there.
2006-12-12 07:24:30

f*cking *ssh*les!
2006-12-14 16:27:57

Win
2006-12-19 13:00:28

well he owned him so he got his money i guess
2007-06-17 23:52:09

"They are not mathematical super computers." ----> 0.002¢ = 0.002$ ? Conclusion: frenchbreadpizza owns a Mac.
