2007-03-12 08:26:43

100% true.
2007-03-12 08:26:58

The only problem I had with "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" is the one about summoning spirits through mirrors.
2007-03-12 08:26:59

mine are geting molested from a family freind and my dad dieing but eh i guess urs is kinda bad
+6
2007-03-12 08:29:19

omg the art work from scary stories was scary and i rember pennywise scaring me for weeks
2007-03-12 08:29:55

How about the NIN video for "Closer"? It would be out of context but it sure wasn't good for my childhood.

2007-08-05 22:37:38

The video for Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People" f*cked me up as a child.
2007-03-12 08:31:00

Ohhhhh yeah. I remember Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Every kid in elementary school wanted to read those books but they were always checked out by someone. I have to admit, I was scarred for life from the Land before time.
2007-03-12 08:32:59

i welcome any suggestions on worthwhile additions. p.s. i like how a ytmnd where the worst things are from PG rated movies is nsfw.
2007-03-12 08:41:31

decent
2007-03-12 08:44:01

omg i remember little foot.
2007-03-12 08:47:21

Now I need to go watch All Dogs Go To Heaven again. Except I think it'd be really embarrassing to get caught watching it.
2007-03-12 08:51:41

Scary Stories ftw. Snops, nobody here cares about your sh*tty childhood so go crawl into a sewer with Pennywise.
2007-03-12 08:51:54

those all pretty much scared the living sh*t out of me, too! D:
2007-03-12 08:53:34

2007-03-12 08:56:28

2007-03-12 09:20:10

Lol this kinda remind me of the spoilers
2007-03-12 09:21:20

2007-03-12 09:26:28

Mine would be Skeletor never getting a one up on He-man.
2007-03-12 09:36:02

2007-03-12 09:37:55

All of these things led to my serious mental disorder- postmodernism
2007-03-12 09:47:22

Ursula was mean to Ariel and made her cry.
2007-03-12 09:51:44

2007-03-12 09:52:28

To the top 15!
2007-03-12 09:55:13

How about "Goonies discovering One-Eyed Willy" or that creepy claymation picture of Large Marge from Peewee's Big Adventure? Here's an unusual one; get something from the first Nightmare On Elm Street: "Freddy's out-stretched claw arms; I sure as f*ck won't sleep again."
2007-03-12 10:01:17

Great site, mate. Though I was feeling like sitting through some boring *ss history class powerpoint presentation with slow *ss students that need more time to take notes, at least the music wasn't sh*tty and boring.
2007-03-12 10:04:41

Great Stuff, add some more i'll ad a star kthanx
2007-03-12 10:05:51

I have to admit. I think my teenage years (WTF FCK HIGHSCHOOL MORE LIKE LOWSCHOOL AMIRITE?!) have left me far more emotionally scarred than the naivety of childhood I long for so badly. Ignorance truly is bliss - just look at all the stupids! But that's just me; your mileage may vary.
2007-03-12 10:08:45

"Please give me second grace." Also, how about the rebirth of TMNT this year? The death of Mr. Rogers?
2007-03-12 10:15:39

How about the movie 'Angels in the Outfield' where the pitcher dies at the end. That was pretty sad for a children's comedy...
2007-03-12 10:18:28

f*ck you Sharptooth
+1
2007-03-12 10:28:45

2007-03-12 10:51:29

You forgot "Heffalumps & Woozles" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heffalumps_And_Woozles .
2007-03-12 10:54:24

2007-03-12 10:55:54

Let's see..... from your specific time frame....... Large Marge should be added, also Catwoman licking Batman in Batman Returns probably sent some childhoods in a different direction.
2007-03-12 10:57:19

You forgot Duke getting stabbed in the Heart by a snake in the Gi Joe movie.
2007-03-12 10:58:36

Also, Professor Screweyes kidnapping children to make them work in his circus in "We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story" (the first film I had the courage to see in a theater after being scarred by Roger Rabbit)
2007-03-12 11:03:08

...Oh we were just talking scary? or mildly disturbing? Then disregard the Catwoman fetish stuff.... Let's see--- How about The Childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
2007-03-12 11:03:09

The kid holding the dead dog in The Gate. Serious mind f*ck there.
2007-03-12 11:05:09

the all dogs go to heaven concept really f*cked me up too. i still refer to it today in my psychology presentations.
2007-03-12 11:12:10

Jawsome.
2007-03-12 11:12:56

Also, Anybody ever see Fuzzbucket? Disney TV movie made in like 88. F*cking strange creepiness to that too. Really helps you learn about multiple personality disorder.
2007-03-12 11:16:20

i was 8 when poltergeist came out and of all things i saw it at a drive in during a thunderstorm, that clown and tree still haunt me to this day.
2007-03-12 11:22:54

Cobra Commander getting turned into a snake slowly in the GI Joe movie without any cure.
2007-03-12 11:33:06

The thin, insect-like alien from Close Encounters scarred me for life.
2007-03-12 11:43:55

I was with you on most of it but you forgot the ferret that died to save the Beastmaster I died a little that day. :(
2007-03-12 11:46:15

zomg rubics! yessss I think I heard my mind snap when Cobra Commander devolved into the snake and was like "wasss a mannnnn" "wassssssss a mannnn" f*ckin serpentor was such a f*g.
2007-03-12 11:50:37

Definitely Littlefoot's mum and the All Dogs Go To Heaven traumatised me. That vision of hell was scary as shyt!
2007-03-12 11:50:47

Passing between the two statues in Never Ending Story and the Brave Little Toaster. /shiver
2007-03-12 11:53:39

Yea, those ruined mine too
2007-03-12 11:54:28

+1 for each of the following: Sharptooth, Charlie, Wonka, Pink Elephants. (lawlawlawl I'm a bit younger than you)
2007-03-12 11:57:17

Also, I remember a Muppets episode/movie where Fozzy got a telegram (maybe a full-on letter) and read it out loud to all of the other Muppets, and all it says is that Jim Henson died.
2007-03-12 11:59:37

Also +1 "I talked JUST...LIKE...THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!"
2007-03-12 12:06:29

My sister wouldn't watch The Land Before Time b/c of of the mom's death. Heard of "Dinosaurs Attack!" trading cards? Thought they were cool dinosaur collectible cards but instead they were filled with extreme gore. That was a bit traumatic.
2007-03-12 12:11:25

The Bat Boy, seeing pictures of him in the tabloids at the grocery store with my mom scared the crap out of me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat_Boy Great job
2007-03-12 12:18:41

Chucky--Child's Play D:
2007-03-12 12:20:31

Old yeller. I know its an old movie, but my parents made me watch it as a kid. What the hell kind of movie ends that way?

Traumatizing? What are you, a pussy?
2007-03-12 13:12:37

2007-03-12 13:25:38

The thing that stands out for me was from the movie Ghost when those little demon things came out to take people to Hell. I didn't sleep for days after seeing that movie.
2007-03-12 13:33:12

TV stole my childhood.
2007-03-12 13:36:15

2007-03-12 13:36:41

Damn you Christopher Lloyd !
2007-03-12 13:41:27

Seriously though, I never like Optimus. My favorite of all the robots were the flyers, or Cheetor in beast wars, he was awesome. The velociraptor guy too... That show was so bad, but I love it.
2007-03-12 13:46:12

lol
2007-03-12 13:50:33

"or Cheetor in beast wars, he was awesome. The velociraptor guy too... That show was so bad, but I love it." Oh come on, Waspinator was good. Like the final episode where he gets left behind with the monkeys worshipping him. "Waspinator finally happy...." And they subsequently launch him to cybertron with a catapult.
2007-03-12 13:51:56

Stephen Gammels drawings scare the hell out of me. It's where my drawing style orginates from.

2007-03-12 14:09:06

Bambi, when the mom dies, or when the forrest is on fire, or when he fights those dogs or the one deer, those parts were all pretty creepy with all the colours flashing and stuff.
2007-03-12 14:10:31

A real slice of all-our-lives. I was there too bro.
2007-03-12 14:10:46

The Grundel from the real ghostbusters... hella traumatizing.

"How about 'Goonies discovering One-Eyed Willy'" My God yes! I remember that now! Man, I had to close my eyes everytime it showed that skeleton. Now THAT freaked me out.
2007-03-12 14:23:46

2007-03-12 15:24:45

Suggestion: Those f*ckin Critters. It's bad enough most kids have an innate fear of whats under your bed, but that movie makes it ten fold.

No mention of Bambi? Shocking.
2007-03-12 20:00:03

2007-03-12 22:06:15

BTW has anyone noticed that in a lot of those older kids movies (even in pretty much every disney movie) that the mom either dies, or is already not even there to start with?

Sloth from the Goonies has completely scarred me.I've seen alot of horror movie, but whenever I HAVE (believe me, I'll never watch it on my own) my heart starts beating like crazy and I get really nervous. Most of those scared the hell out of me. Ofcoarse I wasn't aloud to watch the horror movies on their until I was 12
2007-03-15 23:23:28

The wolf in the Neverending story... Hrm. Ursala from the Little Mermaid. Rosie O'Donnell (fright continues through adulthood)

2007-04-22 17:08:36

The wolf in neverending story is one of mine too. That really did mess me up. Freaky eyes. That and the Dog at the start of goosebumps

2008-02-22 22:01:34

I first saw that Satan scene when I was eighteen and it sent a shiver through my soul. I can only imagine what I'd be like if I saw it when I was a kid.
2008-05-06 18:43:44

HOLY SH*T, THAT MARK TWAIN ONE IS SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO F*CKED UP
