I'm not trying to parade them, I'm documenting an event happening at a popular website. Free speech is a good thing, I'm not entirely positive this is a victory for it.

Try this on for size: Over 90% of the content on Digg's front page has been put there by a small group of about 30-40 users who Digg each other's sites in order to get them on the front page. This explains why 90% of all Digg content is utter sh*t. But what is really sad, is that just about everyone who still uses the corrupted cesspool that is Digg, is completely oblivious to how far the fraud goes.

Agreed, users like webtickle have several dozen stories on the front page a day. Believe me, I'm not oblivious to digg's problems, it's corrupted sure, but you still do manage to get some interesting sites every once in a while.

But you're not putting it into context. The only reason it has anything to do with Linux is because there'd never be a proper license having terms most factions are OK with. Other than that, it's either about pure fair use or it's about plunderin' booty^W^Wcircumventing technological protection measures, making any site enabling such a thing liable under the DMCA. (Do the safe harbor provisions cover that part of the law and not only infringement?)

The main problem with this is that Kevin Rose and Co work with Digg as their livelyhood. They have risks involved with their website. The people who keep posting these codes there don't. They won't lose any sh*t if everything Kevin built up is raped in the *ss by the MIAA.
