after falwells exploitation and rejoicing over 9/11 and Katrina, I'm not sure Falwell deserves an iota of respect. Why does someone dying negate what they've done? This is a huge stretch of an example, but was it 'poor taste' to make fun of Saddam's death? Theres people i disagree with and theres those I find are simply bad people. Falwell in my opinion, was a bad person. I wouldnt go out of my way to mock him but at the same time I wont put on the facade of acting like his death deserves respect.

Falwell wasn't a murdering dictator who tortured, maimed and/or killed parents in front of kids, and kids in front of parents. Sure he held an extreme and inaccurate (IMO) view of the same religion I follow, but I can't recall any torturing or killing that he ordered.

It's easy to rejoice over someone's death when he rejoices over the painful deaths of Americans, men, women, and innocent children alike.

He never rejoiced. He stated that 9/11 was God's punishment for our nation's fall from grace, which he later retracted and apologized for.

Good point, if you apologize after the backlash after saying something stupid, it's like it was never said or meant in the first place. Clean slate rule.
