I'm not really sure how excited I would get over this... Blizzard has *always* maintained that they are not done with the Starcraft universe and will definitely be returning to it. What they showed in Korea is concept art and some other stuff that basically confirms what they've always maintained. How long before we are actually playing it is anyone's guess.

From what I understand Blizzard themselves didn't develop Ghost and they scrapped it because the guys working on it ended up churning out a pile of sh*t. Also, they've been working on Starcraft 2 for years so it's not too far away.

They cancelled the StarCraft: Ghost project because they felt they hadn't prepared themselves for the next-gen consoles.

makes me sad to think in 10 years since the first starcraft, major improvements to computer graphics processing, and we wet ourselves over a 2D game (fuk yeah ill still buy starcraft2), was figuring blizzard would continue to milk the mmorpg market with a starcraft offshoot of WoW (5+ million people, $50 per copy, $15 a month = $250m + $75m monthly, i would make more mmorpgs too).

They're probably using SC2 to flesh out the storyline of SC for the MMO. Vivendi (Blizz's publisher) has already stated that all Blizzard franchises will become MMOs eventually. Also, this is a 3d game, not 2d. It just has an overhead view.

In either case, I'm glad this is going to be an RTS and not an MMORPG. In all bluntness, anyone who believes that a Starcraft MMORPG would be an improvement to the series is a f*cking moron and should tie themselves to a bus while it drives around the city, dragging their f*ggot corpse along the pavement, ripping their worthless flesh apart on the asphalt. thats how I understood the review for sc2, that it was going to be simular to the origonal with 2D split level planes, sharper crisper graphics, but did'nt sound too high tech... makes it easier for more computer systems to support it, not just SLI configurations. I hope Im wrong, load it with high end graphics.

Starcraft isn't an RPG. If they made it a MMORPG it would just be WOW with a different theme, creating a whole new game. That would piss me off if RTS games gave way to MMORPGs because of how profitable they are, since the starcraft series works so damn well as a real time strategy game.

WOW, whats this, blizz annouces 3 bold races (terran, zerg, and protoss), all the same units (with a few more), enhanced graphics, same UI, same gameplay, seems to me they are getting lazy since WoW, they just update the graphics and you eat it up, also, adding a few new units is called an EXPANSION not a full new game...please refer to the warcraft 2 to warcraft 3 jump......i was actually hoping for a dialblo 3 (with fingers crossed it wasn't just diablo 2 with updated graphics)

if you were hoping for diablo 3, then, sir, you are a fool. bill roper and friends(the masterminds entirely behind d2) are gone from blizzard and are home at flagship studios(currently making Hellgate: London). and if you think this is just the same game, you are sorely mistaken and right at the same time. how you may ask? well, i don't want an entirely new starcraft that's completely different from the old one. a graphical update is enough for me to hop back into the starcraft world.

That, and have you guys seen those Protoss tripods (similar to the tripods on War of the Worlds)?; it's new units like those that have got me psyched. With the ammount of new units they're releasing I highly doubt they'll be adding a new race, due to balance issues alone. If anything they'll add a new race with the expansion.
