Doctor Who, From 1963 to 1989. Star Gate from movie to today is 13 years, Doctor Who's original run spanned 26 years. However 13 years and spin offs is no easy feat.

Longest CURRENTLY* running science fiction show. The only thing to replace it will be Atlantis and the 2 coming movies. This YTMND is a little late though... the news that Season 10 will be the last season is at least a few months old. Stargate, however, is one of the best shows on TV. Ever. Additionally, there is feces under Mech's fingernails.

Doctor Who made a return in 2005 making it a currently running science fiction show. How about longest consecutive run for a currently running science fiction show unbroken from start produced in north america. Anyway SG-1 owns.

Aye I'll miss it, alos kinda irked at the sh*tty way the ended the series.

It could have been worse, THEY COULD HAVE PULLED A ST. ELSEWHERE'S <sp?>

OR EVEN ONE CRAZIER, THEY COULD HAVE PULLED A SOPRANOS ENDING! (though, IMHO that would have been so funny that I would have had a massive cardiac episode)

Don't forget, this show was origonally spawned by Showtime along with The Outer Limits. Also I'm surprised Sci-Fi let it live as long as it did since the USA network (owners of Sci-Fi channel) is violently alergic to good content.

Alas, where is Cam? And Valla? Photoshop them in! They're apart of the team! :-( ... even if ... you know .... they're Farscape dudes. Doesn't matter in the end. I like Atlantis better. When a SG-1 show ends, it usually ends. When an Atlantis episode ends, the most bizarre stuff can come back to haunt them in another episode down the line. I like it bettarrr.

I stopped watching this show after all the little metal spiders started getting shot with shotguns for some reason and the aliens were too f*cking stupid to suicide a ship to save themselves from being pwned by the metal spiders. Honestly, WTF? Liked the parts that I saw though and thought the movie was good.

eh who cares, I haven't seen much of Deep Space 9 but I'm sure they are both great shows.

DS9=N*gg* stole a cardassian space station.

DS9 was easily the best sci-fi show i've ever watched, but Stargate SG-1 is also incredible in it's own right.
