Is it Tara Strong using her Rikku voice? Oh dear god please let it be Tara Strong using her Rikku voice.

The concept of, say, 'Safety Not Guaranteed' voiced by a pretend-16-year-old on crack and Pixie Stix makes me shudder just a little. How about Auron's voice actor instead?

2007-11-01 08:10:21

I'll take the completely wild guess of Jessica Calvello.

2007-11-01 16:47:44

also, They say Seymour went to Macarena Temple.

Dude, if it's any major Metal Gear Solid character voice over people, I will - and I couldn't be any more serious right now - come to you're house and suck your balls. THIS IS EPIC

Jessica Calvello?? Do you REALLY want Excel saying this? No. It's gotta be either Steven Blum or Daran Norris, because this clip /needs/ a bad ass. Or a complete pussy, at which point I would say one of the gays from Sex And The City

I don't know about MGS, but this guy did voice Duke Nukem (before Forever became a joke, when DN3D was the king).. not to mention the Full Throttle voice.. this is all entire ownage.

Get David Hayter and I'll let you cum in my mouth. "After the Cold War, the world was split into two parts. POLEND and KHAAAAAAAN."

Please say that it is David Haytor also known as the voice of SNAKE.

If not David Hayter, then do Paul Eiding, the voice of Colonel Campbell.

sweet, but it needs better image. Anyone can just paste his face over the safety not guaranteed image. You should really put that audio to better use.
+3

2007-10-31 18:06:11

There are a few of those Mullet Man movie trailers out there or whatever. If they hadn't already been made, this would make it PERFECT.
-1

2007-10-31 18:17:15

Yeah, but I've been sitting on this audio for months trying to get a good picture, and I just lack the skills to make one, so I figured I might as well just make a cheesy image and share the awesome audio.

2007-10-31 19:07:19

And one more thing. Maybe not everyone knows Don Lafontaine's name, but his voice is one of the most famous in the America, and he is definitely a celebrity.

I'm with Blackadders. Leave the remixing to someone else.

its cool because its like he's voicing over a safety not guaranteed movie, not because he's some guy that I don't know but worship him/her based on name alone.

2007-11-02 23:45:26

He really has an awesome voice.

Freakin' brilliant. And now I finally know the guy's name.
+1

2007-10-31 18:19:40

Yeah, I learned his name from a Geico commercial he did a little while ago.
+2

2007-11-02 11:39:39

Yeah, they call him "the guy who does movie ads" or something in that commercial, but they showed his name. This is amazing, how'd you manage to find his personal contact information?

2007-11-03 00:19:57

On his site, he has a couple of pretty revealing videos about his daily life. His interview on Carson Daly is pretty sweet, too

2007-11-05 21:45:18

CausticArm, what exactly is brilliant about this site? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to say "Hey, please say these words" and then post the result on a web site.

2007-10-31 18:35:53

Donald of the Fountain FTW.
2007-10-31 18:37:53

Dude, f*ckin' A. How'd you get him to do that?

2007-10-31 18:40:43

you would have screwed it up by trying to add some corny image. It has already been done 10,000 times. This is the best. It focuses on the awesomeness of the sound clip. good job.
2007-10-31 18:56:21

I smell a remix on the horizon.
2007-10-31 18:57:03

There is no way I can not 5 this.

I was about to pass on this, figuring he had read it on the Tonight Show or something like that - but you actually got him to record for you? Wow.
2007-10-31 19:20:42

how the hell did you get him to do this? Isn't he like $5000 an hour?
+8

2007-10-31 23:49:42

I know that he definitely makes more money than any other voiceover actor, I've seen a couple videos about him and he pulls in a seven-figure salary just from voiceovers, so there was either a big favour being owed here or Blackadders is connected to the mob
+6

2007-11-01 01:23:17

He actually did the voice over for a little youtube trailer some friends of mine made as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT5M3pd7_mY They said they just emailed him and asked if he'd do it quick, and he did, so... He probably does voice overs for things he thinks are funny.
+6

2007-11-01 08:28:20

jeeze why would he do something so dumb? your friends probably should have asked him to say something remotely interesting.

2007-10-31 20:52:20

Very nice, but you should recruit fellow YTMNDers to generate a better image for this ytmnd. This is truly one for the ages, and there's no point in letting that crappy edit drag it down at all
+3

2007-11-01 06:59:07

I'm not opposed to the idea of getting a better image.
+2

2007-11-01 13:09:59

I already "voated epic five", but it definitely would be better with a more well edited image, and we got some crafty folk here on ytmnd who Im sure will help. Also, Lafontaine ftw, he should be our new hero. (along with connery, macgyver, etc)

2007-11-01 22:20:20

from interviews and crap I've seen of him, he seems worthy for hero status
+4

2007-11-03 00:23:27

I disagree with the criticisms about the image. This site is not funny because of the image; it is funny because HOLY CRAP THAT'S THE MOVIE TRAILER VOICE GUY READING THE TIME TRAVELER!! Let someone else remix this and let them worry about the image. You have made your contribution to YTMND; let it ride.

Oh man, the intro for that clip is awesome. "Now, one man has the power to change that [view?], and the spread his voice across the Earth, for all of mankind to hear. One man: ME."

2007-11-03 00:32:47

Second BigDawg. I like another thing he said: (when asked whether he has refused any voice work because of the quality of the movie or the script) (paraphrased) "I never make that judgment. The work is important and is good to somebody, and they are asking me to do this for them, so I will give them the best that I can."

Where did the sound come from? he is now officially as cool as Tom Selleck
2007-11-01 14:34:16

That is one of the voices I'd consider getting if vocal chord transplants were possible.
2007-11-01 14:35:22

He did this for you? Holy sh*t, what a guy. As a favor, huh? What, did you save him from an exploding building? In a world of downvoters, only one YTMNDer can save that awesome trailer voice guy from certain doom. This summer...yeah I'll stop.

Epic! But honestly, you should put - quietly enough it does not wipe out his voice - Push it to the Limit in the background. Though.. for actually getting Don LaFontaine, the movie guy, Duke Nukem's voice, and countless other things.. you own.

Performances at their best, completely a totally 5 worthy. A must see. With heart pounding action and suspense, it has everything. The funniest comedy in years with non stop laughs and gags. Thought provoking, yet subtle, sure to win over fans, see it today.

You don't like what I like so you're not creative and there is something wrong with you. You're a joke. Did I get that about right? I thought it was interesting how they could get this guy to do this for him, even if it perhaps was an impersonation to ME that merits a 5. Look, I can type with proper grammer too! Some people laughed at this, not everyone comes here to be as creative as you guys. Some of us just come here for fast laughs. WE ARE RUINING THE INTERNET!

"pop culture reference trumps creativity, yet again." You're complaining about a ytmnd formula with another ytmnd formula. I don't know about you, but I think you forget the roots of the site, which was just a looped sound clip from a movie. Every ytmnd is different and some are good in their own way and not to a single standard

That he literally is not conveying any original point, merely having someone read an old site, is the epitome of failing to convey a point creatively.

Wow, look how amazing and artistic you pretentious dorks are. Yeah, it's a site lacking any originality and artistic taste on a website that's featured such fine arts as "ridin' spinnas" and "gay fuel"

No, the point is "Hey everyone I got a celebrity to read a YTMND meme." Which is actually pretty cool, not because celebrities are necessarily better people, but rather because most celebrities are egotistical douchebags who want nothing to do with "common people." This is awesome like a neon clock <3

I come to ytmnd for amusement. I couldn't give two sh*ts whether what is amusing me is "creative" or "original." Is that a bonus? Sure, I guess. Did I laugh? Yes? 5. Simple as that.

Well, this site made me a little more disappointed in the human race, which is hard to do at this point. And celebrities don't dislike the common man, they dislike the potentially dangerous stranger. If you don't know them, what gives you the right to demand their time that 300 million other Americans don't have? Does it say "5 minutes of alone time with Johnny Depp" on your Pirates ticket stub? Utterly retarded expectations people lay on regular people (aka celebrities).

Is it snobbery to deny someone the privilege of hearing what they want to hear in that silky-yet-epic-and-powerful baritone? Obviously not, and I wasn't insinuating that. It's the fact that he took some of his spare time to narrate something as utterly ridiculous as "Safety Not Guaranteed" that makes him admirable in this way. Yes, I'm upvoting a celebrity. You may shoot me now.

Also, neither you nor I would have been exposed to the awesome contained within this sound clip had this YTMND never been created.
+3

2007-11-02 20:23:35

The soundclip and the site are two entirely different entities. If I see a Don Lafontaine profile and it's him doing original work, then that's one thing. But this guy merely posting Don Lafontaine's highly derivative work, well, that's not creative, that's not good, and I wouldn't be able to laugh at this site if my life depended on it. Just not possible. Also, I've seen the voiceover guy on the Carlos Mencia show, so he associates with known "celebrity" comics who steal other comedians' material.
