| To be exact, Tetris is a russian game (who used classic russian music), then they sold the rights to Atari to distribute it on home consoles. Tengen (a division of Atari) eventually used their copyrights to produce the game on the NES. |

Nintendo got the rights, both Nintendo & Tengen produced carts, Nintendo sued Tengen, Nintendo won, 99% of the tengen carts where pulled from shelves & crushed for landfill. That's why Tengen Tetris is one of the rarest NES titles to date. The original tetris was programmed on an Electronika 60, a soviet PDP-11 clone, which didn't have sound, which is why I didn't meniton it. |
